Hi,
two years ago I listed a book for sale but I forgot about it. Today I figured out someone purchased the book two years ago and the buyer paid for it.
it shows the shopping is overdue and I see a total funds for 28$.
I’m not sure what to do and the website is not giving me an option to cancel the transaction or return the funds and I never shipped the book
I need help please

Mark it as shipped. That might kick it back into activity again.

Two years ago? You could try to message the buyer ask if they want their money back ,then you would need to get their Paypal information to refund them. Otherwise, it's over and done with.

Email the buyer and explain to them you have not finished reading it yet

The buyer had an opportunity to file a non-receipt claim and didn't. Seems the buyer never noticed or forgot about it.
After two years you can't do anything through the eBay transaction.
Either let it go and move on, or you can message the buyer. Be aware that exchanging contact info in eBay messages will be blocked because of the off-eBay sales policy, so if you're trying to do the right thing and refund the buyer or ship the book, you'll have to get creative in exchanging contact info to get them their book or their refund offline.

These days, two years ago (2022) is considered ancient history.
If your conscience is bothering you, perhaps mark the book shipped and mail the buyer a personal check, assuming you still have his address available.

Well you could ship the book.
With or without an explanatory note and apology.

Is buyer still at same address...is buyer still alive?...A lot can happen in two years.
'cancel the transaction' from two years...didn't know anyone can see a transaction from 2 years ago or would want to go that far back.

To add to those valid questions. Is the buyers account still current and has there been any activity in the last two years?
