Negative feedback

Such a lovely person.  Here is the proof I tried to give the refund & sent him an email explaining I have funds in waiting from a recent sale & would try to refund again once those funds clear.  I do not have a credit card to put on file to give the refund.  I thought eBay would send the refund & take the money from my delayed funds & bank account.  He lies twice in his negative.  Says I ignored the refund request & never mailed the item.  Both are untrue.  Do you feel as I do - he will just keep the item when it arrives & not reimburse me?  Dealing with this nonsense might just be the nail in the coffin for quitting eBay.

Re: Negative feedback

Look at it through the buyers eyes.  They ordered an item, didn't get it and then didn't get a refund when asked.  They don't know what happened on your end, all they know is they are out the item and money.  As a buyer who is out the money and item, they really don't care about the fact that you don't have a credit card on file or money in the account to cover it.  All they know is they sent you money for an item and now you can't give it back.  If they aren't sellers, they won't understand how funds work on eBay.   I understand why you are upset with the feedback but I can see why they left it.

As far as not having a CC on file, I didn't even know you could have an account without one.  Regardless, you need to get one on file for this exact reason in the future.

Telling a buyer you cannot refund because of eBay looks like an excuse, especially when eBay explains the solution right on the screen - adda funding source. Buyers expect immediate refunds, not refunds when it is convenient for the seller.

Yes. If you refund, the transaction is over. eBay places no obligation on the buyer to refund and eBay provides no mechanism for doing so. Did your buyer file a dispute, or are you just trying to appease him?

Re: Negative feedback

The buyer is a clown!  I mailed it on Dec. 28.  By Jan. 4 he is already on me asking, "DID YOU EVEN MAIL IT????"

No tracking, I presume?

Re: Negative feedback

It's not an excuse when someone does not have a credit card to add.  I have funds in my eBay account & withdraw the rest from my bank.  It never stopped them before!  Yes - eBay does not mind if buyers steal from sellers.  I know they are quite acceptable of that.

Re: Negative feedback

Ebay can't take funds from the pending money, nor the bank account, if there is nothing there to debit. You should getting a CC and putting it on file, just to have it as an additional back up funding source or another account like paypal, for instances like this.

Did you not have tracking to provide to the customer? It seems your other neg is for not providing tracking as well. Maybe you should consider using it for future shipments. At least you will have proof of shipment if it goes astray with the post office.

I don't think it's a good idea to put your financial woes into feedback replies. As a buyer, that looks worse to me than the neg. It just looks like excuses and is validating what the buyer wrote.

I hope this year improves for you. Good luck.

Re: Negative feedback

I don't know how you manage the same things, over and over.  If you can't send with tracking from Canada, perhaps the item is not a fit for eBay.

Come on, man. You can hustle up credit card for backup.

Best of sales moving forward.

Re: Negative feedback

The other negative had tracking.  I provided it to eBay & the buyer.  Refunded on a Thurs.  Received the item on Monday.  eBay just shrugs their shoulders.  Credit card companies want silly little thing like proof of income.  Showing them I sell online doesn't mean squat to them.

Re: Negative feedback

Do you think they just offer up credit cards to anyone without solid proof of income?  No idea what you are talking about regarding this comment : "I don't know how you manage the same things over & over."

"Financial woes"   ??  I CAN refund the buyer if it wasn't for eBay's useless system to do so.

Re: Negative feedback

It doesn't HAVE to be a credit card. It can be a debit card as long as it has a Visa, or MC logo attached to it.

On the upside, once you get this sorted you should be able to get this neg removed as it mentions a case on ebay. Although it would have been better if you hadn't posted what you did in response.

Re: Negative feedback

Love how comments here always blame the seller.  The buyer started being disrespectful only 6 days after I mailed the item & has only accused me of trying to steal from him since then.  IF I bother selling again on eBay, it will only be if I feel certain I can get a quick sale or top dollar for an item.  The less I deal with eBay members (like the 2 previous ones who left me negatives), the better off I will be.

@sakic92710

I have CCs, but don't use them as a back-up here. Mine is the debit card attached to my bank account. You got one?

Re: Negative feedback

My debit card is useless for online purchases, etc.  Strictly for ATMs, in-store.
