Negative Feedback on an item that shows delivered but buyer claims was not

A buyer purchases a book from. I ship it out right away using ebay's system, using USPS. Tracking number shows that the book was delivered. But the buyer says they did not get it. If ebay sides with the buyer since the tracking number shows DELIVERED, can the buyer still leave negative feedback?

The USPS tracking number shows:

"Your item was delivered in or at the mailbox at 11:25 am on December 15, 2022 in..."

ONLY if the verbiage in the feedback refers to the item not arriving. If the feedback talks about something else or something as vague as “avoid seller”, then that feedback is NOT removable by anyone other than the buyer themselves.

Sorry, but you are now wrong, i am always right @iamalwaysright. Is this the first time?

Yes, sorry. "If eBay sides with the seller"... because I have the tracking that shows item was delivered.  But, it shows "Your item was delivered in or at the mailbox...", no signature. And, it was USPS, used as the service with eBay, so the USPS label was created through eBay, and package shipped the next day.

Then you're covered! If the buyer opens an INR case, just make sure you upload the tracking to the case when prompted.

Can't stress this enough!

what @yuzuha said

"...Then you're covered! If the buyer opens an INR case, just make sure you upload the tracking to the case when prompted..."

when prompted means when ebay contacts you regarding the case to UPLOAD the tracking numebr. It seems redundant, but you MIST respond to this email.

EBAY will rule in your favor as you provide tracking# showing item was delivered online.   Yes, customer will still be able to leave negative feedback.

If a case is decided in the buyer's favour, any negative feedback is removable. If there is no case and the buyer is just whining to get a refund and leaves negative feedback, it will take some work to get that removed (if the negative says not received). If the negative say something else, good luck.

I had a buyer leave a negative "didn't receive it yet" on my profile. I contacted eBay, told them "of course he didn't receive it yet, your delivery time is the 15th of the month and today is the third". They removed it. I also give anyone a piece of mind for leaving a nonsense negative on my profile over something that can be resolved by talking to me instead. (and BBL too)

When you say "upload", you mean to just give them/type in the tracking number, correct? There's no UPLOAD screen I'm missing, where you need to upload any proof, right? I did provide the tracking number to eBay.

Re: Negative Feedback on an item that shows delivered but buyer claims was not

By the same token, you did your job 100 percent, and if the buyer didn't provide a landing point safe from theft, well, that's not YOUR fault.

Exactly.

The buyer is required to provide a secure address for delivery.

You have a valid reason to get compensation, as you're out the merchandise, too.

No.

The seller keeps the payment for the merchandise, even if it was misdelivered or  stolen.

There is no loss  for the seller.

While I would certainly give eBay the tracking information in the Claim, and ask that the neg be removed, if it wasn't,or in the meantime,Iwould Respond.  "Delivered by USPS 11:25 am on December 15, 2022". If the buyer was rude, I might add the tracking number, because I am old and cranky.

@an-36344 Ooooh, thems is fightin' words buddy. Read above ^^. I guess I should have clarified and said if the feedback is vague (doesn't mention not received) it is not removable under policy unless the buyer agrees to a feedback revision. That's not to say you can't convince a sympathetic CS rep to erroneously remove the feedback. As sin-n-dex says "good luck (with that)".

If the INR was filed, be sure to upload the tracking in the INR case or you will lose.

By upload they meant to put the tracking number in the space that ebay provided when the case was opened. It sounds like you have already done that.

Re: Negative Feedback on an item that shows delivered but buyer claims was not

Just wanted to post a follow-up to what happened with my case...

The buyer did open another INR with eBay. On that day, eBay emailed me saying:

"Hi Charles, the buyer has asked eBay Customer Service to review this case and make a final decision. We'll get back to you within 48 hours. Until the case is resolved, the case amount will be withheld from future payouts."

Then, 12 minutes later they emailed me again with:

"Hi Charles, we reviewed this case and have closed it without any refund to the buyer. The case will not affect your seller performance. Any feedback left for this transaction will be removed. We received tracking information that shows the item was delivered to the buyer's address."

Thank you for everyone's input. Greatly apppreciated.
