NO SALES AND NO MESSAGES THIS MONTH?

I have over 300 items listed and no sales this month? Last month a great month, this month has been pathetic what is going on with my items? can anyone see them?   bubba

Yes, I can see them. My sales since March 2023 have been lousy. I am getting ready to give up. 

My biggest guess is nobody wants NASCAR items or railroadania any more.

If my count was correct, last month to this date you sold 17 items, while this month 2 so far. Does seem outside of of the realm of chance. I have also experienced extreme swings in number of sales. I don't care what anyone says, I do think Ebay for whatever reason does constrain sales at various times. Sometimes for days, no matter what you do you will get the big goose egg, then all of a sudden a flood of activity. When you have a period of no sales you begin to wonder are my prices too high, am I selling the wrong stuff, and so on. It is not that, I do think Ebay has at least a partial influence on sales volume over a given period.

You are selling items that appeal to a very, very niche buyer base, which means that if interest in that particular niche drops for whatever reason, your sales will flatline.

Try branching out and adding some other types of items to what you sell. It never hurts to diversify.

Wait, what?  You think eBay constrains sales at various times "for whatever reason?"  Can you give us just one plausible reason they would do this?

IMHO, it always slows down this time of year.  I used to actually shutter my store from July 1 to Labor Day and just take the summer off.  Not now because I really need to get the rest of this stuff sold, but I'm not expecting banner sales.

Like a lot of sellers, you're selling wants and not needs.

Some buyers are cutting back on buying items they want and saving their money for items they need.

It's not just you - large sellers, small sellers & everyone in between are reporting unusual activity, or lack thereof. Sure, economy. But for sellers who are accustomed to being spammed a dozen times each hour with messages, offers and sales for decades to going to radio silence for 16+ hours straight, followed by normal behavior for a day, to be followed again by radio silence - it's saying something is up. 

There was a rep on these forums just last week who said they're making major changes to the backend and in two to three months this will be resolved. Let's hope so and let's hope that whatever they're doing is worth the shakeup.

And it's even more discouraging when you see people on social media selling $50K worth of stuff on ebay after only selling for 1 year. And I can't even sell $1K after 15 years.

It's important not to panic when we have a few slow days.

How does May /June 2023 compare with May/June 2022? May/June 2019? 2018?

We have to skip 2020 and 2021 because of the pandemic surge in online shopping during shutdowns.

With most people vaccinated (and vaccinated and vaccinated - I'm only up to four but I know a couple of people who are on #6)  things are returning to normal.

Remember normal?

My normal busy period is January to March, but lasted well into May this year. June is back to pre-pandemic normal. Dang.

Sellers selling $4000+ a month don’t have time to make videos. 
Sellers making videos about how they do it are not being honest. Why would they show, for free on YT, what their secret is.

Smoke and mirrors. Listen to what they aren’t saying.
