NEW STORE FORMAT

Unwelcomed surprise.  The ability to search for newly listed is gone.  Categories are gone from the side to a drop down menu.  Is this just a test on a select few or are all stores downgraded?

These are the types of horrible surprises that convinced me to switch to the month-to-month subscription last July.  Just in case it becomes too unbearable to struggle to make a few extra dollars.

 And in less than five minutes after sending off an email my categories are back.  Whew!

Oh, maybe not.  So my customers can't see the shipping cost without opening the listing?

I spent some time looking through the new format. Maybe it will grow on me but for now I am not a fan.

@my-cottage-books-and-antiques  I saw this pop up in seller hub, though unfortunately when I click through to the store settings area it still doesn't give me any option to set any of these things - but hopefully this means "soon" is really going to be "soon" now for those new features. 😊

@valueaddedresource  Thanks! I'll check out the FAQ. I'm withholding judgment on the design because I think it is designed to accommodate some of those other "coming soon" features, and until we see how they play out, I see no reason to say too much.

What was it that you where searching for ? I just randomly searched a few different items and had no problems using the newly listed function, or seeing the menu for categories.

Nevermind. In 21 years I have never shopped a person's store. I though you where referring to a normal search that 99% of buyers use.

@valueaddedresource Well, I guess I won't check out the FAQ just yet, unless you have a link....so far, I'm not getting that pop up message. Like you, I see no Stores tab in Seller Hub, and in the Manage My Store page I see: "We have updated the “Manage My Store” page experience. This temporary guide will help you navigate to other related seller tools." Temporary suggests we've started rolling this out, but we've only started.

As always, an actual announcement with a timeline for the rollout would be as appreciated as it is unlikely.

... and I am paying for this "upgrade". ugh. Who asked for this? Was so much better and easier to search before!

My store JUST renewed at current level otherwise I would downgrade - between this and the 1600 items I now have to tweak and add specifics to AGAIN that were lost in the "new" postcard setup (thanks ebay!)  I am beyond annoyed with these "improvements".

Categories are clearly marked as a dropdown on the left

and 'newly listed' 'ending soonest' highest price' 'lowest price' etc. are on the right. 

Not that difficult and almost EXACTLY the same as all pages on ebay always were. 

I worry much MUCH more about the person that buys an item titled 'Fits Mustang 2012-2015 and then complains that it don't fit their 2003.

@valueaddedresource  Well, it looks like at least some of the features are being rolled out. I can set up "Featured Categories" and "Featured Listings" modules (or whatever they call them)  ...hopefully, they'll have all the new stuff out by the end of the night...

The shipping price used to appear under the listing.  If you have to open it up too see the shipping some buyers won't bother.

@valueaddedresource  I just added two "categories" in that module (the photos are lousy, and don't meet the recommended specs, I'm just playing around here)....but I do like how quickly a click on this will bring up my category. Easy peasy to set up, especially IF you have the foresight to create some square 300 x 300 pixel photos for your categories....
