Just saw the NEW Listing page layout show up on my account ... ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I zoomed out to get more of it on one screen just as an overall shot of it. Very large main item pic, details to purchase & Seller info over on the right.

Could you confirm whether the View Item page layout in the screen shot in the first post is a test, or is it the beginning of a rollout?
Hey @my-cottage-books-and-antiques! I know that the team working on this is still testing layouts for desktop users.
devon@ebay why would the team be testing *any* layouts that still include ads between the main picture and the IS/description?
It was clearly stated under "key highlights of what you can expect" in the announcement that the design will:
Bring critical information like Item specifics and seller description higher up on the page before any modules that show other items & ads.
Seems like a waste of time and resources to be running tests which include design elements that are not supposed to be in the final product....unless eBay doesn't plan on sticking to that point?
devon@ebay kyle@ebay elizabeth@ebay adsteam@ebay - any update on this?
The announcement could not have been any more clear about the expectations eBay was setting for this new design and very specifically and explicitly said the IS and description would be moved above any modules with ads or other items.
If eBay's intentions have changed since this announcement, the absolute bare minimum sellers deserve is a straight forward, honest and transparent statement to that effect - though an honest explanation and earnestly listening to seller feedback on this matter would certainly not go amiss either.
@valueaddedresource THANK YOU for pointing out what eBay said in their statement. I know this will be a topic for this month's Mentor meeting for sure. However, from a site design standpoint I can understand that the current layout format has the ads in the middle of the listing form so the "test" layouts will most likely follow that format until THE layout is selected and finalized. Then they can systematically rollout the new page layout on the entire site in batches. It would be nice if one of you would verify that the above approximates what eBay is doing on the page redesign devon@ebay kyle@ebay elizabeth@ebay adsteam@ebay
Thanks!
@mr_lincoln like I said, it wouldn't make sense to me to leave the ads there for testing if that's not the intent of the final design but I'm totally willing to admit there may be factors I'm not aware of that could make it make sense. 😊
But with the amount of upset posts were seeing here in the community from sellers who apparently are just seeing those ads above their descriptions for the first time, a proactive statement affirming eBay's intentions would be wonderful.

@mr_lincoln At this time we do not have anymore specific details to share on the testing of the page layout. If we get more information that we can share we will be sure to let you know.

Those 2 lines promoted before the item's description could at least be items from MY own shop.
The PL's I pay for should be seen there.

@valueaddedresource And let's not forget those words "transparency" and "Seller engagement" which mean so much to ebay.....but they can't even tell us when and if there will be a Spring Update (or---at this point--- Summer Update).....apparently, it is a closely guarded secret that must not be revealed to those who will be most directly effected by it.

at this stage, it's better to hope they skip an update, as updates go, everything goes to the toilet when they do them, and since everything has been in the toilet since the last q update and hasn't recovered, they can just do us all a huge favor and can that Spring/Summer one.

@nuclearomen But if they don't do an Update, they'll still make changes...just without any announcement, and so it will be even more confused.

of course they still make changes, but they aren't 100 of them at one time to really mess things up, the one to three issues they mess up on daily basis is enough.

I hope I'm wrong, but I suspect the reason we haven't had an Update is because they are working on a lot of changes but are way behind schedule, and so they'll release everything just in time to completely screw up Q4. I'd prefer they screw everything up now, and give us some peace in Q4. LOL

yeah, you know, xmas season without complete loss for sales like every year... and people say ebay isn't exciting lol

And of course, if they do as they have the last few years, there will be no marketing campaign for the site, they will only push the Focus Categories....which is one reason I expect to be multi channel by Q4.

they sent me an invite to join their "Expressions panel" - know anything about that?

Did anyone else here who was seeing the new View Item page have it revert back to the old one?
The account I was seeing it on no longer has it...maybe that means they are going back to the drawing board after getting so much flack about the ads. 🤞
