Just dont understand what is going on anymore. Recently got 2 negs from someone who never paid. this used to be impossible to do but now, no prob i guess. i did use the appeal process they have now and they were removed, but how are they able to be left? so many things now people can get away with it seems. fraudulant returns, nothing gets done, software glitches, nothing gets fixed, invoice issues, pay issues, over and over and it stays the same. ebay has basically all the money, so why cant things get fixed.

You cancelled the order with the reason "Buyer has not paid"? They should have either been unable to leave it in the first place or it should have been automatically removed almost immediately if so.

Does not make sense but at least the positive part is that the feedback was removed. How long did it take to remove after you appealed it?

Could be wrong...........but there are occasions when not paying is because of a seller action........asking for more money, saying there was something wrong with the item after the sale, etc......and that's the reason for buyer being able to leave feedback even if they didn't pay......

nothing to do with me, guy just didnt pay. he left the negs a month later. ebay did remove them, but few years back you would never be able to leave a neg for an unpaid item. you would get a message saying you cannot leave feedback for this as you didnt complete sale. why would they get rid of that?

Did you go in and cancel the transactions for nonpayment? If so, after how long?
Did you have to appeal them to get them removed, or did eBay do it on their own?

I don't think that was ever the policy.........could be wrong...... But there are cases where buyer is justified in not paying.........seller tries to increase shipping costs, says the item is out of stock, states there is something wrong with the item that he didn't disclose in the listing, etc...........

Have you seen someone post this message? I've seen several posts recently where it's been stated that feedback is blocked for non-payers, but I'm with the other poster that thought feedback was possible, but would hopefully qualify for removal.

Buyers who get an unpaid item strike cannot leave feedback. This has been the policy for many years; until about 5 years ago, the seller couldn't leave feedback either. The Help page about unpaid items explains that after a transaction is canceled for nonpayment, "We'll also remove any feedback left by the buyer," which covers the situation if the buyer has already left feedback and implies that they would be blocked if they haven't left it yet.

ebay will tell you that is a feature not a bug
...just like how a non-paying buyer can open an INR...unless they finally closed that stupid loophole
