Why on Earth would any seller do this?
Throw 2 light bulbs in a box loose to rattle around.
No newspaper.
No brown paper.
No styrofoam peanuts.
No air pillows.
Nothing.

Even the high-end department stores like Neiman's and Saks are cutting back on packaging. The last two clothing items I have received have been in poly mailers.
Saks ships clothing in a poly mailer? Are you kidding me? The last time I was in a Saks and looked at a dress it cost $500. I shop at Hudson's Bay company and lots of my dresses (which are not formal wear) cost $200-250. But the Bay ships in a box.

red light, green light. isn't that a game?
Saw the grandbabies playing that last year.
The little guy was a cheater. When it went red light he would keep going until he caught up to his sister, and then stop.
Red light district.
Green light district.

Some items that I sell that I think my competitors would ship in a poly or padded mailer,
I actually put in the description "This item will be shipped in a box, not stuffed in a padded envelope" and I think it may garner me sales over my competitors.

Amazon uses packing paper and air pillows these days. I appreciate it because I always keep it to reuse in my own shipments.

I have not been seeing the amount of air pillows in my wife's orders that we have had in the past. More packing paper than anything.
I reuse all of it and liked the pillows best.

I went to the rescue shelter and adopted a pet peeve. It is not working out like I planned. I will drop it off at another shelter across town. I recommend that you commit to foster care rather than adoption to see if you are a good match. Be sure to check if you will need to remove or add any forever chemicals before providing a forever home.

Hahaha!
Two post lights in front of my house.
Made one red and one green for the holidays.
Aw-AWWWW!!!! That's so sweet, now my joke feels all douchey. 😞
This is my first Christmas alone since 2005. Not ALONE-alone; I'll be at family festivities on the Eve, but living alone (kid moved out this spring). Seeing the lights and hearing the music are all so bittersweet now. But if you take a pic of your house decor I'd love to see it. Christmas in Hawaii does not compute but I bet it's great.

That's nothing. I bought some specialty appliance light bulbs recently (with a filament, not LED bulbs)... and yes, they were actually shipped in a bubble envelope!
I have rarely ever been left speechless, but opening that envelope and finding light bulbs inside was an exception.

Also we have receive plain ole poly bags from Amazon avec bubble or plain ole paper - for light weight stuff and those big boxes with small items and some paper, some air pillows - the item stills moves around inside like a BB in a box car - that is called the 2024 human factor syndrome or I'd rather be doing this and get paid but some OTPay would be nice too

My last package from Amazon had neither paper nor the plastic pillows. 😓

At least it was in a box.
My miracle delivery, that actually arrived intact, was a touch screen android phone that was posted in a plain and ordinary brown envelope.

You seriously order lightbulbs off ebay - you don't just pop into a hardware store and get what you need? I don't understand people at all anymore.
The packaging on those bulbs is strong, although i would at least tape them down, they shipped without breaking and still function.

OP ordered them as Christmas decorations. Perhaps the hardware stores in Hawaii don't have what he needs.
I order clothing off eBay (once I figure out my size for a particular designer), and buy candy on eBay. I can go to the local 7-Eleven to buy candy, but like the OP, I'm ordering something I can't find locally. Why pay shipping if you can buy it locally? I figure if you're willing to pay shipping it's because you can't get it locally.

That is how Amazonia does it.
