My listing was hacked!

So I listed this camera for $60 dollars then, a second later a user messaged me saying "repost the goods, I'll buy it for $88 dollars"  I was confused but then noticed my orginal listing said out of stock, which made no sense. Then I went and re-listed it for 88 dollars and the next thing i know my camera was bought by the user that orginally messaged me. Then another person messages me saying they also bought my item, it says I sold this camera twice to two different users. By THE WAY the users are both from China and are sending me the same type of messages with similar language "deliver the goods quickly" I cancelled the second order that came in but now I am worried I refunded him with money from my actual account. plus now I am worried that the orginal "bot" user wants me to refund this item. This is so confusing. EBAY PLEASE HELP ME !!!!!!! IT FEELS LIKE SOMEONE HACKED MY LISTING !

Completed listings show that you sold it 3 times yesterday.  If a buyer asks you to "quickly" ship an item, it's usually a scam....especially if they are located outside of the country.  I would cancel the orders as "issue with buyer's address" and relist the item with shipping set to U.S. only.

"deliver the goods quickly" is often the sign of a scam!

I've been on eBay since the dinosaurs roamed the earth & only once has someone attempted to scam me.  I was suspicious, but not 100% sure, so I engaged them in a conversation, to which they replied "just deliver the goods" & that's when I 100% knew it was a scam.  My buyers do not speak that way.

IDK what you mean that they hacked your listing though.  Did you have multiple quantities?

You are new and in over your head. Go slowly, ship only domestic and list small common items until you know what you are doing,

The Canon Powershot SD 1400 was listed and sold three different times with three different item numbers.

Listing 396842810410 was listed 1st and sold on July 9 at 6:16 PM.

Listing 396843089919 was listed 2nd and sold on July 9 at 7:08 PM.

Listing 396843133565 was listed 3rd and sold on July 9 at 7:19 PM.

I cannot see the time they were listed.

@gabrrrr333

It appears you got yourself a little confused on this / these transactions.  You haven't been hacked, I think you just made some honest errors.  It happens to all of us from time to time.

You have the listing 396843133565 Sold on 7/9 at 7:19 PM

Then there is 396843089919 was posted at 5:42 PM and sold at 7:08 PM

Finally 396842810410 was posted at 6:08 PM and sold at 6:16 PM.

So you accidentally sold it 3 times.

Do you have three different buyers.  Check your Orders Screen in your Seller Hub.  Do you have 3 of these that you can ship out, or do you need to cancel two of the orders?  If you need to cancel, the reason for it would be that your are Out of Stock.  But if you do have 3 of them, if the buyers have paid, get them shipped out.

You have had 4 camera listings close since Jul 8th.

3 for the same camera SD1400, and 1 was for a SD-1100 camera.

I'm more curious who would pay $88 for a non working point and shoot camera?

That pink camera was listed 3 times and sold 4 times, as far as I can see. All were sold for $88. Only the last item number is showing up in Marketplace Research as having been paid for, and not cancelled.

"interval" is showing how much time had elapsed since the previous listing ended, when the next one was started.

I would take some advice in this thread to cancel these orders for issue with the address.  I'm assuming you sell from the USA.  My listings go through EIS or not at all for international sales.  I would recommend the same for you.

You can exclude entire regions of the world in your listings.  I mostly use it to block out PO boxes and the non-lower 48 for when I need to ship with UPS or FedEx, but you can block certain countries or just block international sales all together.  That is what I did until the EIS.  Now I wish every sale went through EIS.  It's as close as you can get to seller protection on eBay.  I've never had an issue with it other than eBay seems like it arbitrarily restricts certain item categories to other countries.  I'm sure it's some law, but the blanket category makes some weird thing restricted that shouldn't be.

Why do you block po boxes?

I had to use state issued id to open it.  We don't have USPS home delivery here.

Scam bots would be my guess. Jumping on any camera listing put up by a newbie seller and not noticing (because they do not actually read the wording) that the camera is for parts and not working.

From what the OP is describing about how these sales occurred I suspect that they were 'bought' so fast that the seller thought the listing had not gone up properly. Therefore they listed the same camera again and the same thing happened again.

This is kind of an ugly mess but I would say that if payment was actually received (at least the first time?) then the seller needs to ship. The later sales will have to be cancelled as Out of Stock because this is First Come First Served. Assuming that the payment has actually been made then the scam might come later (such as returning something else and claiming the refund) but at this point it is hard to tell.

They specifically stated that it's because they are shipping with UPS and FedEx...which can't deliver to PO boxes.

@zakstreasuretrove

That is bad advice.  You are advising the seller to break the rules.  Ebay is tightening up on sellers that abuse the Cancellation system by selecting a reason for the cancellation that is not appropriate to avoid the Defect.  The reason this seller should select is Out of Stock.  Yes it was simply an honest human error, but one sellers need to own, do the right thing and move forward, not try to fool the system.  That is not the right thing to do or for a new seller starting their career here on the site.
