Sharing my chart on promoted and organic listings. The chart and numbers don't lie... something is broken here and I have around 420 active listings with literally zero views or search impressions. I know everyone is complaining about the drastic drop in sales, of which mine have fallen off a cliff since mid-May and continue to be bad even now. Any thoughts about how to get some refreshed exposure in search results and promoted listings. I bit the apple and updated all my promoted listings to 2% to confirm with another forced change. Thanks in advance for any feedback!

That was the day they changed they requirement from 1% to 2% to promote your listings. Has to be something to do with that change they made and of course, it messed things up 🙄

Yes. I’m heading out the door now but took a quick pic of this week compared to last week. It’s upsetting. I’m going to have to drill down on this and figure something out when I get home later. Despite the expected summer slowdown and economy, there’s something more to this. It’s like listings are being intentionally throttled for those who don’t pay to play. Organic SEO no longer has weight in terms of visibility and placement. For me, the first major drop-off was Mid-May then held steady at my new low, until another sudden drop after 7/10 where everything pretty much stopped overnight.
eBay is making a safe bet that us one-percenters all raise the rate to 2%.
But if nobody agreed to play raise the rate, would eBay then be a dead internet mall with no listings to show buyers? No, they'd just have to revert back to organic search where the best SEO wins. If everyone decided to unite against this money grab, then eBay would get the message loud and clear that they have reached the tipping point.
DIRECT ACTION GETS THE GOODS.

I agree with you gdiesel170...something has happened and the system is quite very very broken. We will never know what or why, and it won't ever be explained either...just have to sit and hold tight and wait for it to get fixed!
But I don't think it has anything at all to do with promoted percentages per say, (other than the new 2% thing having caused some kind of glitch)... as I have always promoted everything, and at the suggested percentage, and still my sales sit at down 96.5% as of today. Only one sale in the last 30 days. Normal is 15-25 per month.

EBay recently revamped the Views and Impressions to ignore bots and eBay's own views of listings.
They didn't block the bots, they just don't record them.
I'm pretty calm about the whole thing, because a View is just another person who did not buy my product.
Buyers buy.
Watchers watch.
Viewers view-- and now we know the viewers who are recorded are real people -- but they still didn't buy.

OMG. Y'all don't get it. Nothing is broken. EBAY IS TELLING YOU TO PROMOTE AT 10%,20%, etc.
They want more. If you want your chart to look like it did, PROMOTE. Raise your prices and promote at 15%.
Gee Wiz!

someone in the ebay community posted a post saying that the new change with views, blah blah blah, will affect our sales/views for the next coming weeks as they sort out the new category changes they are doing.. i wish they would stop with all these nonsense changes, they just cause problems.. I feel you, my sales have definitely taken a huge decline since about the time you specified.. Something is definitely not right with ebay, and it's not recession related, it's glitch/ebay related.

We announced in our most recent Seller Update that we’ve revised some categories and item specifics to help make your listings easier to find on eBay and by external search engines.
Starting today, you’ll see updates to the following categories:
Business & Industrial (Sinks)
Collectibles & Toys
Electronics (Cameras)
Health & Beauty (Covid tests)
Home & Garden
Parts & Accessories (Wheels & Tires)
Sporting Goods (Golf & Cycling)
Watches
During this transition, your listing experience could be temporarily impacted, as well as the visibility of your listings. You may notice some item specifics changing names, listings moved to different categories, or some listings temporarily not appearing in searches.
Any affected listings should return to normal within a week, though some effects to listings’ visibility in searches may continue for up to three weeks.
Once these changes are complete, we recommend checking your listings in the above categories to see if any were affected. Learn more about category changes → please scroll down the page to see the links for the specific category changes.
We understand these updates will take extra time and may cause some frustration, but our goal is to help you increase your listings’ visibility and sales.
Keep an eye on this page over the coming days—we’ll be sharing up-to-date information on affected categories and listings, and answering any questions you have.
