My first iNR Case is open. Can I give it until Monday to see if tracking finally updates or best +

to just refund now? Tracking has not updated in about two weeks. Of course, I did contacted buyer early this week and assured her that I have contacted the post office (filed first an inquiry than just now met the criteria for missing mail case) and that I will be getting back to her and will make this right in the end. Which I will be doing - but would you recommend I give it a few more days as allowed by eBay - or am I risking getting a negative. The only thing is I have recently had missing items within the same time frame show up right after refunding and I am out of luck.

Hang in there and wait it out.  That's what I'm doing..and my case is similar to yours.  In my case, the buyer filed an INR.  I filed a 'where's my package' with USPS.  The item was delivered last Monday, so now I'm waiting 'till Monday to see how the case gets resolved.  This is eBay.  Nobody should have to get burned.

Thank you. That is helpful as far as feeling mildly reassured I will be protected from a negative. However, just wondering if in general sellers feel it's best to refund a INR case immediately (and I do feel the packages has likely NOT made it) or they give themselves a few more days to wait and see.

The case get's resolved in only 1 way. Respond to the INR with a successfully delivery tracking number (if it was successfully delivered) and do it BY THE DATE THE INR STATES TO! or Refund. 

Anything less and you will get dinged. So, wait until 1 day before the 'date shown' to respond- either enter tracking if it showed, or refund.

Personally, I stay in touch with my buyer and wait it out to the end of the allowed time ebay gives.

I have also called eBay (call back option) to have them manually set the time line to make sure the bots don't make the mistake of giving the refund B4 our (seller's) allowed time frame to refund.

A few instances, after opening a 'where's my item' on the USPS website without any luck on further tracking, I get in touch with the supervisor (who knows me from my eBay packages) at my local post office and have them do an investigation. This has worked to get an updated scan.

Thank you this is helpful. I was certainly not planning on waiting it out past the time frame to get dinged! Just wasn't sure if I should jump the gun and refund immediately as I am always trying to do the right thing but might end up shooting myself in the foot. I will stay the course for the moment.

So as it turned out..eBay stepped in and opened a case for me..and they shut the buyer off from feedback.  The case got resolved after ten days..then I blocked the buyer.  Just be nice and play by the rules.  The buyer was being rude and wanting refund refund refund.  2 days later, he would have gotten the 130 dollar item at my expense.  I just like things fair for everyone..including me and the buyer.  Incidentally, after many years being on eBay, I had to block two buyers for my very first time.  Something for everyone, fun for the whole family.
