My eBay Totally User UNFRIENDLY and USELESS, No Reason To Go There Anymore

I Used to go to My eBay many times a day for a QUICK look at my listings and to see if there were any bids or messages, but that is no longer possible.

It has become a nightmare of may page clicks and nothing ir either quick or easy.

So, now, I just won't go there.

I will use my email to see if there is anything new.

And delete all messages from eBay that have nothing to do with a sale.

There are OTHER sites that have the same listings as eBay and MORE and they ARE USER FRIENDLY.

Listing takes a lot of time and I cannot waste it on the CLUTTERED USELESS NIGHTMARE of My eBay.

If the seller Hub page prevents editing & listing, it has EVERYTHING to do with sales.

Truth.

OK so it takes about 5 screens to get to where one screen did the job before, I'm retired have nothing else to do all day, but where  or where did they put the total  watchers #...this figure gave me encouragement and a basis to list more of the same thing.

( I have a 40 year accumulation of antiques and collectibles and my critical path to the end is coming faster that EBAY can change screens around) .

I'm an also too old to rework my brain, did data processing for an insurance company since the 1980's and we were taught early on to just follow the KISS principle...(Keep It Simple Stupid) !

Yes, correct.          hurryagain_0-1616791065898.png

...Sooo...

Are you arguing with me or at me?

We are ALL complaining about the new seller's page...the one that they chopped up into individual sections...yes...we are all angry about this.

There is just some confusion with some people confusing the sellers PAGE with the sellers HUB.

All of the happy sellers HUB people were coming on board telling us how wonderful the hub is.

We do not care about the Hub...we all want our old classic all selling PAGE back.

So in essence, you and I are on the same page...so arguing at me is like arguing with yourself.

Here's the thing...

For many years sellers complained that it was cumbersome and awkward, that they wanted a one-screen-does-it-all so they wouldn't have to first click on My Ebay, then this, then that, etc etc...
Right?
Remember that?
So here we are, Ebay provides us with just that, an almost 100% efficient one-in-all screen to do it all with the least amount of clicks and what happens?
People again complain, now it's too complicated.

@shaha7142

...HUH???...

All in all screen?  That WAS what we HAD with the OLD all selling page.  It was ALL in one screen.

Now the new selling page (similar to the hub) has all of the sections chopped up into individual tabs.  NOT on one screen/page.  I now have to toggle between 4 woops 6 pages to get what I had on one page.

The HUB people are happy with the hub and that is cool...awesome.

The PAGE people are not happy with the new/chopped up /gotta click onto different (individual) tabs page.

So your "an almost 100% efficient one-in-all screen to do it all with the least amount of clicks" would refer to the OLD ALL selling PAGE.  There were no clicks to perform if you made that your landing page.

Below is the new all selling PAGE.  On the left, the tabs with all of those orange dots...those sections/tabs WERE  ALL ON ONE PAGE.  SIMPLE.  CONCISE.

Mea culpa, mea culpa. I am with you,  again I apologize as it sounded like I was not with you. I am just angry  at EBay as it is keeping me from listing new items and I can't find anything. . It seems to be a confusing mess right now.  When I look for one of my items "to sell similar" I feel like a fish out of water.

One of the  major problems with these changes,   is that that EBAY did not tell us of any changes or ask us to try the new screens and give input. I usually never blog about anything, but this really irked me.  I worked as a business/systems  analyst for a large insurance company and we developed new screens based on what the USER wanted, tested these changes and implemented them. Everyone was happy with the end product  as we had a rollout period and and if they weren't happy, then we made the necessary changes. Bottom line was to keep it simple.  Obviously EBay's system development team needs some work. I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt esp if they read some of these blogs. Let's hope.

Why did eBay change things?

Because it was easy for them to do.

@boomersbiz46

I feel for sellers like you who have over 1,000 listings.  It has to be almost impossible to keep track of it all let alone try to list more.

@outdoorgeardudeis another larger seller who can't stand this new layout either and there are other large sellers saying the same thing.

In all of the changes that I have seen eBay do (and people come here screaming about it) this is the FIRST TIME that I have seen the large sellers coming onboard hopping mad.  I only list approx. 150 to 200 items a month with  between 70 to 100+ sold items a month (not making that quota this month after this disaster - LOL!) so I am not a tiny seller but definitely not a large seller.

If eBay does not listen to these larger groups, I cannot imagine them growing as a company.  Sure...their books will look good for the next year b/c of people being forced into MP and the added profits that they are making from that but if they start to lose their larger sellers due to this mess, I would think that it is going to offset some of their MP gains and in a few short years they could be making less money overall which means that they would want to raise some fee somewhere to offset that loss and lose larger sellers due to to that which means that they could be making less money overall which means that they would want to raise some fee somewhere to offset that loss which means they could be making less money overall which means that they would want to raise some fee somewhere to offset that loss

...so avoidable...

So...saving some pennies by having a few less IT positions b/c everything is a uniform platform -  mobile user friendly first with "PC's being a poor second cousin" (a quote from a well versed community member) they could end up losing dollars due to less activity here...

...maybe...maybe not...we will see...there are more & more going to other online venues b/c of the insane changes that they are making.

It is situations like this that give rise to start up companies b/c the start ups see the need and recognize the problem and tailor a site that is user friendly.

Yes, there will be those who say those guys are peanuts and eBay is big...

...there was once upon a time where Home Depot was peanuts and Sears was big... and Sears strayed from it's core base...

...How's that working for them now?

@strugglinlikeyou

The system is geared to be mobile friendly with "PC's being a poor second cousin" (a quote from a well versed community member.)   It is to streamline their back end (programmer's end) without much thought for their front end users (us.)

While many BUYERS are mobile and a SMALL amount of sellers are too (the ones who sell occasionally)...most full time sellers (full time - meaning selling items on this site daily) use a PC/Laptop device.

So they are favoring the mobile over the PC...can you imagine trying to keep track of over 1,000 items on a PHONE??? LOL!!! hurryagain_1-1616660184781.gif

I don't know how they do any selling from their phones.

Have a great day.

I can see the onsies/twosies every now & then thing but no way100 let alone 1,000 or more items...there is just no way.

It was shipscript that coined the phrase "PC's being a poor second cousin"...sounds about right...

I am hoping that they can come up with a separate seller's format and keep the buyer's format the same.  Hopefully one does not need to have anything to do with the other - programming wise.

Hi, where or how do you find a way to see your sales dollars for a specified time period? I really liked having my sales for the month; those items selling, amount not yet received and the total for the month. Thank you!

I know and I hate to sound like a dinosaur but changes are harder to process at 64 than they are at 24.  And that is not to say that we are a bunch of dunces or won't adjust, but it's a fact that the brain slows down. And it was soooo unnecessary. The classic page, active, sold, unsold....buyers, watchers, bidders, labels, feedback....it was all right there. And I too have a 40 plus year of antiques and collectible (much worth half of what is was 20 years ago but it still needs to go!) and only so much time left....

@a_la_vintage

The old "sold" section of the classic view still seems to be working for everyone:

https://my.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MyEbayBeta&NewPeriod=Last7Days&View=SoldNext&Column=Unknown&Sub...

You can still obtain that data on the left side as you always had.

Enjoy this for now...I am sure this will eventually go away to...😏
