Been dealing with this issue for over a month now. I have been selling on eBay for over 15 years, I recently moved to the nightmare of Managed Payments. I started to notice strange things, getting charged for shipping twice, funds not adding up right in my payouts, etc. I contacted eBay many times about this to no avail. Suddenly I was told my payouts are on hold and I have to verify my bank account again. PITA but I did it. Still a hold on my payouts a for a week. I contacted eBay every day with no one able to resolve. Suddenly I was not able to log in to my account. My credentials are saved in my browser so it's not like I was typing things in wrong. On the phone with eBay again and I'm being told my account can not be found and there is no account associated with my email address... WTH! I have has the same email with eBay since I first signed up. No one is can tell me what is happening, its like I'm a ghost. I have records of payouts, payments, emails, etc. from ebay that I have sent them, proving I'm not crazy and I did have an account. Nothing. On top of all that I had $1100 sitting in my payouts. This is insane. Has anyone dealt with this or have any advice?

Maybe the other ID was something embarrassing. Maybe the OP discovered it was a PEBKAC and they don't want to admit it.

If they had $1100.00 of my money on hold I would not be complaining about having to go to Facebook when you have been told they would be able to help you, when it is obvious that CS are not helping - but hey, that's just me.

Nor would I be reluctant about releasing the name on the account.

Because the account has "vanished," it could be an inside job, with a crooked eBay employee working with a hacker or alone and erasing all traces of your user name and email address.

Nope, you shrug it off as a rant of a lunatic. It's people like you who make sellers go crazy in the first place.
Oh dear, let me tell you something about the world of 0's and 1's...
In the world of 0's and 1's it's all about on / off switches.
Microswitches in fact, millions, billions, and trillions of them, do you understand that?
0 is off, 1 is on.
And here's what it all boils down to...
There's always a reason and it's usually far less sinister and complicated as most conspiracy theorists would like us to believe, but you can believe anything you like, I'm sure it was probably little green men from Mars.
Now, you can chose to get back on topic or keep attacking secondary posters with things that have nothing to do with the thread, I'll leave that up to you.

Riiigghht.......that's probabbly what it is, although I would think they'd be going after way more than a lousy $1100 and any hacker worth a dam would be focussing on financial institutions, not a petty eBay account LOL

Maybe eBay is no help because you wouldn't tell them your user ID, either.

Only one way I have seen this done: closed account: this was in the old days. It would wipe the info and then the id could be used again.
Feed back left would convert to No longer a registered user. And all info that ebay did not need for record was gone.
Now as for some asking for this info on a chat board: I have seen this also:
Use comes on after getting a email account and is trying to find a eBay user name that already exist to go with it after being told there is one.
Of course such a person has no right to the said account.... I other works a person trying to hijack an existing account.
Well if what you say is true no one of us users can help you because you will not help us to do so..
Ebay so far has not been of help.
At this time you and or some one else could have closed the account while you for a long time did not access it... This would also make the account inaccessible by you.
Unlikely due to you say MP and owed money..
Yet now days the account would still exist under the user name. Last I checked eBay does not fully remove them like they use to...
If this is a real problem you may need legal advice in this mess.
Good luck.

You'd be surprised...
I was hacked a few years ago and it wasn't a nice experience.
I was lucky to spot it quickly - Paypal was brilliant and eBay were quick to act, removing all the bits that had been tampered with.
Fortunately, although they were fast to use the account they hadn't been quick enough or thought to change the user name or email details.
Perhaps it was a 'trainee' hacker...
If they can get enough eBay accounts it could be a tidy sum.

The only ZERO I see is your feedback score. Your lack of credibility makes you the only ONE that has nothing to do with this this tioic
It all makes sense now.

Hackers came after my account twice and sent me ransomware links. Seller accounts are very easy targets compared to institutions.

I do find it strange he's not giving out his username......perhaps it's got some identifying info in it, like his last name and birthdate. Or perhaps it's like "queffwizard69".

Same thing happened to me, and I strongly suspect it was a acquittance of mine who bragged about being a hacker, and also was not shy about telling people he was a schizophrenic. When I confronted him about it, he said "I never use eBay" when in fact he sold pirated software on here. He wasn't after my money, but revenge I suppose. I had called him out on stealing from thrift shops and selling torrented games and movies.

I went to my bank the other day to cash a check. The teller said she had no record of my checking account. Nothing. They said account did not exist. I've had my account there for 16 years. I showed them my check book. I showed them my deposit slips. I showed them the bank statements i receive from them every month. I showed them ATM withdrawal and deposit slips. All with my account number on them. But they insist my account does not exist. I have over $20,000 in that account. Oh well, they said they would look in to it.
