Did you mean:

My First Promoted Item Sold.

So I un-promoted everything and promoted a few items on January 14th to understand how the new promoted thing works.

I did sell one item promoted at 20% yesterday...rather high I know but I am looking to obtain repeat buyers.

So the 'Final Value Fee' pre order amount is not charged on something promoted...it was .40 cents?

And it used to be the promoted charge was immediately withdraw from 'available funds' and that is no longer done?

My photo is from my iPhone which makes it easy for me to read.IMG_0657.JPG

If this is an eBay mistake...let's not tell them😆

eBay made the correction today...deducting the promoted fee.

Usually the promoted fee was deducted from available funds immediately.

Guess they caught it.😢

PL fees that are the result of the "halo effect" don't always get billed at the same time as standard PL fees.

I made $8.55 on an item at 20% promoted which was listed at $10.00.8.55.JPG

Re: My First Promoted Item Sold.

I'm not sure what screen you're looking at, maybe one that just goes over the PL?  But the FVF is absolutely still charged.  You need to look at your Order Details page.   Under Selling Costs, the Transaction Fees portion defines the FVF (and some other charges, you can click on it for info).  Right below it the Ad Fee General denotes the PL fee.   LMK if you require a screenshot, but you must be looking at the Order Details page which you can get to by clicking on the Order # from any of your sold items.

Re: My First Promoted Item Sold.

I dont think your math is mathing!

I think what you are looking at is the transaction details page just for the promotion fee. Try checking the order details page which will have a better break down of the selling cost to include FVF and promo fees.

Please give us an update as I am genuinely curious. I have notice since the 14th, some promo fees being charged nearly 24 hours after a purchase and some charged shortly after a purchase.

Re: My First Promoted Item Sold.

I thought this was about the per order fee.

Re: My First Promoted Item Sold.

Ok, Maybe I misunderstood what they were asking, they said pre-order & I thought that was something different.   The PER Order fee I thought was a part of the total on the Transaction Fees.  I've never seen it listed separate, whether or not it was a PL.  I have another from today without PL & it's not a separate line item there either.  I've always thought it was a part of the Transaction Fee sections, which includes several fees.

But I thought OP was talking about the FVF & the PL fee & they DO charge both,  but OP is just looking at the wrong screen.

ETA: I've never paid any attn when it's subtracted from avl funds, so I can't speak to that.

Here's one of mine from today.

Re: My First Promoted Item Sold.

Here's another one from today with NO Adfee (PL).  If OP is in fact talking about the "per order" fee, you can see that neither one has it line itemed out.

BTW, if you click on the definition for either one, neither of the definitions mentions the per item fee.  I've never much paid attn to it, tbh, so I couldn't even tell you if it's still charged or how much it is LOL.  Based on @krazzykats  post & the fact that I've not had a line item per order fee in the Order Details since Order Details existed, I assume it's wrapped into the FVF total, which is what the definition that Katz posted would seem to indicate.  Odd though that clicking on the definition on the screen does not call it out.

Re: My First Promoted Item Sold.

Exactly, no per order fee.

I just checked some of my promoted items from December and didn't find the .30 or .40 order fee on them.

Oh yes, they still apply it to items that aren’t on promotion...;)

Re: My First Promoted Item Sold.

@krazzykats  As I posted in my images, I do not have them as a separate line item regardless of whether PL was in effect or not.   I have no idea what screen that is that you're posting?  I'd love to check on mine b/c I don't have them either way.  But as I said, they may be lump summed into the Transaction Fees bucket.

It's always so hard to figure out this stuff b/c everyone uses different screens & features.

ETA: I just checked with husband who imports all the CSV data from eBay to import to our spreadsheets & he says that he has never seen an item without the fixed fee in that column.  I sell about 50% PL & 50% not, so if you didn't get charged the fixed fee for PL's, then that column would import blank or 0's half the time.  That said, he does them in aggregate & doesn't take a deep look into it.  But I think he would have noticed if that column was 0's half the time.

I'm not aware of any reason why it would not apply to PL's.  But I could be missing something.

Re: My First Promoted Item Sold.

Forget the 40 cent fee you are selling an $11 with a 20% PL + free shipping? What is your final net and how often do you have buyers re-order from you?

Re: My First Promoted Item Sold.

The OP sold stamps, and postage for a letter isn’t very expensive.

Re: My First Promoted Item Sold.

PL fee is on a separate screen.

You wouldn't see the .40 fee on this screen.

This post is a clear misunderstanding how to read the fees.

Re: My First Promoted Item Sold.

About 50+% are repeat buyers.

Since I give free domestic shipping and now some International free shipping I do get more multiple orders from a single buyer.

I notice a lot of buyers feel the combining of items can be complicated as to the total amount and having to do emails back and forth and so on.

Some buyers had a language(country) problem as well.

I get feedbacks in different languages...thus not everyone understands English as well as I do not understands other languages.

Some buyers just want to buy it and be done with having to contact the seller.

I try to simply buying from me.

I have had a great month of January so far where I have had to do some tracking (Priority Mail only because it has that $100. insurance value in it)...Plus I only have to deal with USPS if my item is lost.

I think a lot sellers un-promoted their items after January 13th...which increased my potential buyers by the way.
