Morphing?

Anyone heard of eBay's unavailable policy about morphing?

An agent told me my listing was in violation due to morphing the picture but the definition didn't match what was done (putting a post-it over a nipple). I asked to see the policy and was told it's not available.

Can't figure what why none of the other 5 agents before that agent knew about it either. In fact, an agent helped me set up the listing in April!

Morphing isn't mentioned in the email I received either.

So basically I am being held in violation for a policy that isn't available to users and I was not told about.

ebay's first line outsourced CSR are notorious for not knowing wth they're talking about (or what you're talking about for that matter).

"If a product doesn't sell, raise the price" - Reese Palley
"If it sold FAST, it was priced too low" - also Reese Palley

Have no idea what they meant or what you did.........but if you put text on a photo that's not allowed.......

It sounds like he put a sticky note on a picture to cover a bare breast.

We have text on all of our photo's and eBay has no problem with it. Been doing it for years.

I actually had an agent tell me she didn't know where she was getting this from.

It's clear their customer service is sending pap answers from a key word lookup or is just making it up as they go along.

Using the common practice, I put a post-it over a nipple on a comic book cover.

That's it exactly.

Per eBay policy, that's acceptable.

Regardless, another agent just told me she had no idea what the "morphing" agent was talking about.

Is this about the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers?

Sorry this happened to you. Was it an adult-only comic?

To get help, you may be better off coming to the forum or connecting with eBay’s customer service at their social media platforms: eBay’s Facebook for Business page or its twitter account. The phone reps are notorious for handing out bogus information.

So i assume they removed the listing. What did the eBay removal message say about it?

Update:

I've now had 3 agents (not first line ones) give me 3 different answers why my listing was in violation:

1) it shouldn't have been. This agent, in fact, helped me relist it.

2) due to "morphing".

3) it's against policy. This agent couldn't explain what about the listing was in violation but simply kept repeating that like it was a mantra. I got the impression that was the absolute extent of her knowledge and capabilities.

None of the agents could give me any details, or explain why the other agents had different answers.

So you had an item removed because you put a posted note over an uncovered breast ? Is the item allowed on Ebay in the first place ? Did you put your item in the adult category ? Sometimes CS is not real specific but any one of the 3 things I asked could be the reason for removal. You would need to return and be more specific.

Oh ebay secret polices?

There are a plenty of them.

If you ask how you can possibly follow a policy that isn't listed and they won't explain to you, well....they will tell you they can't tell you why they can't tell you why.

Its right up there with non paying bidders being able to open INR cases.

Which listing is it?

Hmm, I would rarely advise relisting a pulled item, especially if the violation is not clear. There is a strong possibility it can get pulled again, and eBay penalties are cumulative. With each infraction, the penalty becomes more stringent.
