Morphing?

Anyone heard of eBay's unavailable policy about morphing?

An agent told me my listing was in violation due to morphing the picture but the definition didn't match what was done (putting a post-it over a nipple). I asked to see the policy and was told it's not available.

Can't figure what why none of the other 5 agents before that agent knew about it either. In fact, an agent helped me set up the listing in April!

Morphing isn't mentioned in the email I received either.

So basically I am being held in violation for a policy that isn't available to users and I was not told about.

Morphing?

It was a regular comic with a variant cover with a topless woman.

It contained no nudity or sexual activity inside and there was no nudity in the listing-- which meets the exceptions to the Adult Only policy.

The email said it was in violation of the policy but neither it nor any of the agents (10 in total, 3 of them were 2nd line agents) could explain why.  The last agent was through Facebook and could only repeat it was against the policy like it was her mantra without explaining why it did not meet the exceptions.

Morphing?

No idea. The 3 secondary agents have all given different reasons. The "morphing" one stated had was the reason but the 3rd one said the 2nd had no idea what she was talking about. Can't get a straight answer.

Yes.

No-- because it meets the exceptions in the Adult Only policy (comics with no sexual activity inside and no nudity shown in the listing).

Morphing?

When dealing with a company with such poor customer service who can't even say why something is in violation or agree on a reason and who clearly makes up policies on the spot, the amount I care what they say goes down drastically.

This whole thing has massively stained their credibility with me.

Regardless, I have a B&M shop so I pulled it to go there.

The morphing...................   was that an off-shore CSR.

Could it be a translation issue.

It was morphing..............................  changed to something that it is not....................  by covering what is seen?

But one would think that in this instance that ..........  morphing............   would be the acceptable thing to do. (as per eBay policy)

Morphing?

You'd think that would be acceptable, especially as it's the common practice. But I couldn't get a straight answer, only contradictions and vague references.

That is so disappointing that even the Facebook csr (who are better trained) could not see the distinction you reported between your covered-up comic book cover and an adult-only comic book. It’s especially maddening when clear violations, like real people modeling see-thru tops for their gallery photos, seemingly never get pulled, but a carefully presented item from a seller following the rules does. Sorry your time was wasted in their customer service black hole.

It's probably this - https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-policies/picture-policy?id=4370

Photos have to accurately represent the item so buyers can see what exactly they are buying.  Covering up something in the photo isn't allowed and yeah,  I know many sellers do it.
