Hi everyone! This month's chat you’ll have an opportunity to talk to Chuck, who’s the Product Operations Manager from the Stores team. Start brainstorming your questions for Chuck before hopping on the Monthly Chat board on June 8th at 1:00 pm PT.
Can't make it to the chat? Leave your questions here and we'll circle back around after the chat next week.
Remember to keep on topic for Stores. If you have other non-Store related questions please create a new thread.
-----
Edit: We've closed this post from further replies, but please come to the chat tomorrow here to ask any questions you have for Chuck!

Relative to the Store Search Box: It's too small and shown way out to the right. Considering that for the past years, one used the top main search box for store search (a mistake made long ago), it needs to be bigger or more defined with a color or Bigger Bold Font.

Edit: A reply to your suggestion can be found here.

Will we ever get any traffic information about stores? How many actually "go to the store landing page" from an ebay link/from an off ebay link.....how long do they stay.....how many listings do they look at during the visit? Do they click on "featured categories" or "featured items"? ......... the years ago traffic reports had that kind of information.......in addition to the keywords buyers used to search.

eBay is on the decline for a reason. Horrendous seller support is one . I would get out of it before you end up losing money.

Just want to say thanks for adding the store icon and feedback info to results from simple searches. I had not seen this until recently and find it a huge help having direct access from search results to individual stores and a birds eye view of feedback percentages before clicking on a listing. (Using Chrome browser).
Some on the community boards state they have used Advanced Search to see this info for awhile but for the average eBay buyer who is not aware of using those extra steps this provides info buyers doing a general search should have had all along.

jasmen@ebay: If I may make a suggestion here...
Audience: "OH, NO, HERE HE GOES AGAIN..."
What?
Audience: "NOTHING! NEVER MIND. YOU WERE SAYING?"
Okay, yes, we can see that several posters have indeed been brainstorming their questions in advance as requested, so I just wanted to suggest that to make the best use of the hour during the upcoming chat, perhaps Chuck could open the hour with pre-written responses to these questions that have already asked in advance in this thread here.
That way we can hit the ground running, and get into any needed follow-up questions right away, rather than starting the hour by asking these same questions all over again there, then waiting for Chuck to type in his initial response to each.

Came here to post the same questions.
I mentioned in an earlier thread that, as a buyer, I virtually never visit a seller's store and questioned what data may be available for how many members access sellers' stores, through what path those stores are accessed, etc.

I've asked Chuck if he has time to post the Q&A's before the chat. I like that idea a lot. Will circle back if/when I have answers.

At least year's ebay Open Online, Tom Pinckney, VP of eBay Stores, announced that eBay will be adding a social media marketing incentive for stores that will discount the final value fee to 2.5% + $0.30 per transaction when buyers buy from your social media posts.
I was pretty excited to hear this.
I understand that it is currently being tested in Australia.
Two questions:
Is this still "coming soon" to the US?
If so, can you share a timeline? The economy is rough right now, and it would be great to have this available before the Holiday Season. So, any information you can share would be helpful for those of us trying to plan.

At ebay Investor Day, back in March, Alex Kazim announced that a new store marketing tool would be coming in "the second half" of the year. No details were given. I realize this is an Ads Team initiative, but I assume the ads team is working with the stores team on this, so you should have some insight. Is this still on track for the second half (which begins July 1st)?
Again, given the state of the economy, it would be best to have this available well in advance of the Holiday Season, so we can get used to using it. Can you provide any insights into the current timeline?
And any insights into what this will look like? Overall design, free structure, etc?

A few store home page questions:
1. can we get more characters for the banner title and description? I don't want to write a book, but the description could certainly be longer....
2. can we get the ability to move the banner on the page? When I'm using it to promote a coded coupon, for example, I'd like to be able to put it above the category/featured rows.
3. For the rows, could we get the ability to create our own titles? For example: "Under $20 for Father's Day"...give us some default options, but also some "blanks" we can customize.
4. IF our About tab page includes a video, could you provide some sort of icon to indicate that? Or maybe the About tab could say something like "About with Video"
5. Speaking of video, are you going to do anything to promote the use of video by sellers? Maybe a contest of some sort? Maybe put together some tutorials? I'm guessing VERY FEW store sellers are using the video capability, in part because, in typical ebay fashion, you guys release this stuff and then seem to walk away.
5. Again, video, and store home pages in general: I was a proponent of videos and was thrilled to see you finally gave us store videos. I created a Holiday themed video last year, and finally took it down recently. I have not replaced it. Given that I actually pushed you guys to provide video, why have I not replaced it? Because it does take effort and time, and you provide me with no way to measure the results. Are people viewing it? Is anyone looking at my About page, or my main Home Page? I have no idea, because you provide no such granularity in the traffic data. PLEASE provide traffic data: how many people (not bots) are looking at the pages? how many are watching the video? Where are they coming from?
I really think one reason so many people have really done nothing with the Store features is because we have no way to know if anyone is even looking at the pages. This really needs to be corrected.

Hey @dhbookds! Chuck wanted to let you know that he passed this on to the Stores search lead. Thanks for your feedback.

Thanks for the question. There are traffic stats for your listings available under Seller Hub → Performance→ Traffic, but we do not have any immediate plans for stats related to Storefront or Store categories. We are aware this is a requested feature and will be evaluating it as we plan future development efforts.

Just wanted to say that I am very pleased with the new features that the stores have. I use the top pics and featured items and recently added an “about” video to my store. It really helps all of these new ideas to make the stores look very professional and well layed out for buyers to find other things in the store, like when they click one of the categories shown. Keep up the good work guys. I am going to try to do some individual videos in the future as well of the items if I can get some help on how do do it right.
Hi @vintagecraze50! Chuck said:
I’m glad the new features are working for you! If you are looking for help I recommend checking out the Stores learning resources (https://www.ebay.com/sh/resources/store) . There are a number of helpful articles there and we plan to add a number of training videos to that page over the next several months.
