Just checked mine, yep they put it back on my account with no opt out link to go back.  I used the Feedback link in the lower right to complain.

If you sold any volume on this site you would hate it and it would cost you money.  This year we will sell $600k on eBay.  I have 5 people working the site everyday.  Now we have to retrain to another time wasting program THAT COST US MONEY.  In the past three years eBay has yet to come up with any program that has helped make us money.  They are at their best making programs up that make them money.  If any person in upper management had a business brain they would understand if we make more money eBay makes more money.  One of the most basic business principals ever.  This unsustainable platform will learn that greed will not keep you in business or pay your share holders.  Yes eBay is now a minor part of our business.  For reasons stated above.  They can go out of business we won't.

@allthingssurplus

You've touched on a few keys points that contribute to any company losing business.  You've also brought up a key point for any business and as it relates to online sales for any internet entrepreneur.   That latter would be to have multiple venues to sell on.  In the early days of internet sales there were few choices.  Today there are many.

For what I sell the first 6 years saw consistent, predictable steady growth EACH year moving towards the goal I had set for the platform being an extra cash stream for retirement years.  In early 2022 they made a number of major changes and sales started a slow, steady and measurable decline.  And on a side note, sales have gone down a lot quicker than they went up.

Fortunately, I too have other venues that I can and have sold on and was forced to push inventory to those venues in order to maintain sell through rates and cash flow. As it relates to eBay, 2024 sales look like they will wind up being about 50% less than the last growth year which was 2021.  It is equivalent to going back to my 3rd year selling here.

So a few key points that cause a company to slowly lose their customers (Sellers in this case) and ultimately market share would include:

-Make simple tasks more complicated thus requiring more time to complete.  To quote an old phrase, "time is money" and that still holds true today.

-Make frequent major changes that do not benefit customers.  Sellers are the true customers of eBay.  Buyers are customers of the Sellers.

-Degrade customer service and support

-Ignore input from experienced Sellers

While I love selling on eBay the operative word is selling.  I have been in industry since 1982, over 40 years.  Desk top computers for the average office worker did not exist when I got into industry, now look what they have.  I started as an installation service engineer for computer scales in north America and moved up to Project Management, then Sales and Marketing and eventually all Sales.  There are MANY Sellers here who have great real world business experience, they know what works and what doesn't.  They know the importance of time management and making tasks as simple as possible to increase throughput and optimize profit margins. And that holds true even if they are dabbling in internet sales as a side hustle and thinking of maybe developing it into something bigger over time.  Doing anything that complicates that simple business process is counter productive and will lead to losses in market share.

Your statement is exactly on point.  You have been on the community board for a long time.  Have you attempted to send what you wrote to those in eBay that may listen.  I think you must be aware that for the last three quarters eBay has not disclosed the number of Seller on the site.  They hang tuff at 131 mil Buyers.   As you know no Seller no Buyers.

I was given the email of a Eddie Garcia, VP of Seller experience (if memory serves) and was promptly sent off to one of his assistance that after several email back and forth was told eBay no longer has reps for individual Sellers.  I had one like 12+ years ago.   At that point I really knew eBay just does not care.  Wall Street is the only care they have.

Because sadly ebay feels they (and therefore WE) need to change. I think what really bothers me is eBay caters to the buyer, YET they forget we, the sellers, are their actual customers. Until this happens, they will continue to cater to those using the moblie apps, not those of us still using desktops or laptops.

The nature of online messaging has changed.  The old eBay system was more like a clunky webmail interface.  What's being offered now is closer in style to SMS-style messaging which is what many buyers expect, particularly those using phones and tablets.  Sales on mobile devices make up over half the sales on eBay.com now, if my source is accurate, and in general more people are making online purchases with phones than ten years ago.  I'd say that at least two-thirds, maybe three-quarters of my buying online is done on my phone now, and I'm an old Gen-X fart.

eBay is adapting--a bit belatedly, I might add--to a changing online market and is expecting sellers to do the same.

I didn't have a problem adapting to it. It's a common message format. ??

@allthingssurplus

My sincere thanks ...

Yes, the screen shots and a bunch of complaint threads here were sent to Home Office.  All we can do is voice our displeasure.  Some like it, some don't and some could care less either way.  The page design thrust across the site is leaning heavily towards mobile devices, the app is NOT as comprehensive as the PC program version.  So what the PC winds up getting is typical of the message page roll out, lots of wasted space, fewer items per page, forced scrolling and scrolling and scrolling, etc.

Try pasting this link. It worked for me on a desktop earlier today.

Just tried it on my desktop 11/11 & sadly, it did not work for me.   I HATE this new ugly, messy format.

What moron in their right mind thought leaving out the listing number in the message was a good thing to do.   We receive some 50-100 email a day.  I don't want to comingle my sent mail with the incoming.  Someone on this thread or the more current thread of yesterday said that leaving old stale email is not helpful.  Not one of the 69 that responded to date had one positive thing to say about the new email.  I have 5 people and myself now looking through endless completed email to ensure all were responded to correctly.  I checked back and now we have endless old email we can view, months old.  Now something smart eBay could do is have endless eBay listings available to view like my ShipWorks programs has done for the past 12 years, now that would be helpful.  Will this moronic company ever do something to create sales.  Ignorance abounds.

By the way has not one eBay worker said how poorly the mobile site works for Buyers and how completely useless the mobile is for Sellers.  It is a joke that we are paying dearly for.
