I somehow got switched to new messaging format . I hate it. How can I switch back to old messaging?

You can't -- this is another one of those dreaded eBay changes that arrive without any choice.

Unfortunately, eBay hasn't given us the option to switch to classic version of messages.

I hate it too!!!  Who decided to ruin a perfectly good feature?  This new format sucks!!!

Hi @buzzwasik10 

If it is the one with the silly colored balloons on the left and preview pane on the right I was able to go back to the Classic view when it was added to my account, I'm thinking late Sept - early Oct.   The link for that if memory serves was int he upper right.

If you can't get back to the Classic view request a call back and complain: eBay Customer Service

We are stuck with this fugly new message interface.  Perhaps it looks better on a cell phone but on my desktop it is, well, downright fugly.  Hard to say what they were thinking but remember, we are just digital blips to these people.

There is a link to send feedback on the new format, bottom right of your messages page.  I have been sending feedback daily about how cumbersome the new format is, but of course it's likely an exercise in futility.

I may be one of the few who likes it. I love seeing all my messages with a buyer or seller in one place.

We might be little blips to them but, last year, we gave 2.78 billion (net income) reasons to consider what we like.

I want to point out something though.

This new version is better than the first "new" version that I originally detested.

While I don't like the formatting very much, at LEAST I still have the folders and can view only the sent items.

The first new version was awful and you had no way to even choose one folder in your messages. They were just in a pile sorted by whatever you chose.

Its better, and for now at least its similar to the original, just updated.  Not completely happy with it though.  Use the feedback, tell them how you feel.  I did on the first version.

What I dread is the upcoming changes to how you use the feedback.  That thing I'm constantly switching back to the "classic" view.  The new version is just....  I can't use the words I want to use.

Nope, just tested it.   Just gave me the newer version.

But as I said above, its still better than the earlier iteration.

No.  It is a permanent change.
