Hello to all of you and welcome.
I would like to suggest this one thing when you post for help on the boards.
Many of the sellers on here take their time to respond and provide solutions. It is so hard when they have questions for you and you've left the building.
Generally, someone will come along in a short period of time to respond or maybe ask further questions. Try to be there, or at least come back to see if you've had a response to your question.
It will make selling easier, I promise.

If any other sellers have some good points to share with New Sellers, it would be greatly appreciated by them all, I'm sure.

If it's important, urgent or time-sensitive, use the @ method to generate a ping to the missing party. Just type the @ symbol following immediately by their user ID, click on the correct choice from the popup menu of possible matches that will begin to appear as you're typing (technically, you can use this method to ping someone who isn't even participating in the discussion), and when your reply is posted, they'll get a heads-up message, with link, direct to their eBay email account.

Thank you a-c. Also very good to know.

Agreed. Further, coming back to let us know what transpired in the end at least also helps everyone to better understand how eBay works- even when eBay itself seems unsure- and if the outcome of your problem is unsatisfactory, doing this will allow knowledgeable posters to assist you in possible appeals.

Thanks Georg.
There is so much knowledge on these boards. I didn't know the boards were here when I first started selling. I went on a wing and a prayer.
I have learned so much more about everything, thanks to the members here. Invaluable.

JMO, but if a newbie cannot find his way back to the board, he may not understand the ping and the directions on how to get back that way either.

That's a great point Emerald, but how do you make that more visible then?
Although it does seem some find their way and never come back....lol.

For certain questions, responders really need to be able to see listings and that can't be done when using a posting ID. Even if you normally use a posting ID, no one has to know both if you use your selling ID for those questions.

There are many reasons why a poster does not come back.
He may just read the posts, get the info he needs, and move on.
He may not like the responses he gets, so he does not post further.
IMO, all you can do is ping them. If they do not come back, it might also be because they do not want to.

You're preaching to the choir, girl !
Thing is, will those who need this thread read it?

Another excellent point Chryslys. I don't use a posting ID, but I am learning why many do.
It's still ok, as long as the poster provides the informaton you need to help them. It's always the entire picture you need to help. If you don't get it, well....there's the answer

Yup.... dead on.
01-26-2018 02:40 PM
Hahaha Ersatz....you are right. Probably not even the amount I would hope.

Or they come back and call all the posters trying to help them clowns, stupid, uneducated, or they envisioned us all as men with beer bellies. Yes, I read all of those sentiments on this board yesterday by noon.
