A friend says he uses it a lot so I decided to create a sale too. I noticed that my listings weren't showing the discount so I called up CS. The front line rep went away to ask a supervisor who apparently told her it takes 6 hours for the sale to apply.

Is that your experience?

NO not exactly... but there has been a lot of things going on with the site...so maybe there is something up...

but usually it happens once the sale it activated time hits....

Check the sale you created - what time did you schedule it to start? Keep in mind eBay is on PT time.

I don't know, kept changing the start time to get it to, well, start, but nothing worked (did factor in PST, I'm on the East Coast). The front line rep was confused too. I've often used MM in the past and never had this problem. It just says "scheduled".

19:00 is the time you started it?

That would be 10 pm EST

It will say Active (on the MM page) when it starts

ETA: To have started it at 5:00 EST, the time needed would be 14:00

give it a start time of 1430 and it should start at 5:30 ET.

I went to change the time and now it says I have exceeded the number of listings involved. ??

Never had this much trouble before.

Hi Kezia, How many listings did you select and how many times did you try to edit the sale? There are definitely limits involved, and that includes making revisions. If you included 50 items in the markdown then you revised the start time 4 times after the initial creation, that counts as 250 "changes" (50 x 5) and you will hit a roadblock if you are at the basic store level. See below for all of the store level limits. You'd be better off leaving it alone, letting it go live at 10pm ET then taking a look tomorrow if you need to edit anything.

I just went back and looked at the time you created this thread and it was 5 1/2 hrs before the scheduled start time of your sale. So if you had spoken to CS not long before creating this thread then, hold on to your hat, CS was actually correct when they said 6hrs.

this seems to be the problem for sure. I called CS and had to get a second-tier rep because the first wondered if I was talking about a third-party program. Sigh. I guess tomorrow I will try again and just not try to change whatever default they are using for the scheduled start.

You can change the default start time, but it's best to do it when you create the sale instead of revising it since a revision will double the number of listings towards your daily limits.

If the combination of a 24 hour clock plus the 3 hour difference of east vs west coast is too confusing then you can always use a quick reference chart when you create sales. Here is one converting both the 24 hour clock and the time difference for you:

21:00 PT / 12:00 ET am

22:00 PT / 01:00 ET

23:00 PT / 02:00 ET

24:00 PT / 03:00 ET

01:00 PT / 04:00 ET
