Markdown Manager

The new markdown manager sucks.  You know I don't do anything fancy.  I just wanted to add 2 items to a current sale.  Everything was going ok till I got to the end and couldn't find where to set the end date & time.  Everything is easy when you know how to do it.  Still sucks.

Re: Markdown Manager

I think what I hate the most about the new MDM is that we can't add anything to an existing sale. When I manually renew an item that was in the sale to begin with, I can't re-add it. This new system is clunky and terribly limited in usefulness.

Just wanted to pipe in that I have been able to get the old markdown manager if In just keep on clicking out and trying again. Eventually it gives me the old one:) Hope that helps.

Re: Markdown Manager

I tried that, but it doesn't do that for me; it just keeps taking me to the new one.

Sorry, I tried for 20 minutes today and it would not let me. Used the new one today for the first time. The calendar is how I set the dates. I have still been able to reactivate old sales on the old markdown manager today by just changing the dates. It will only include items that are still active.

Re: Markdown Manager

I've been selling here for 19 years. The Markdown Manager WAS an invaluable tool I used 4-5 times a month that actually boosted sales for me (as rare as that is nowadays) and now that they have torpedoed it, I won't be using it again. 500 minimum items is just the STUPIDEST change I've seen in here a long time that is masquerading as an improvement. WHO makes these crazy decisions?
Every seller update has a change that makes my work HARDER and LONGER.

This actually may be the last straw for me. There's another high-traffic site for records and cd's (I just read an article that they are having their best year with mega millions in sales) and I'm going to slowly move my stuff there. They don't ever make dumb unnecessary changes because their system works perfectly as is. The new MM is absurd.

I. Just. Don't. Get. It.

Re: Markdown Manager

I am still using the old MM.  I have not be thrown into the new one.  I am very thankful about that.  The old one was an easy to navigate tool.  The new one sounds like a real nightmare.  I am not looking forward to the day that I am forced into it.

Good Luck.  Come back and advise us if you are able to figure it out.

Happy 2018! May this upcoming year be a prosperous one!

It's 500 MAXIMUM, not minimum. . .

Re: Markdown Manager

And even at maximum, it's kinda stupid. What happened to the different "able to be on sale at one time" levels depending on store level?

Re: Markdown Manager

Finally figured out how to add items to an active sale.  You have to go through all the steps as if you were creating a new sale.  When you get to the part to select your items make sure you check the box to exclude current items (already on sale).  After you select your items you will have to select a new start date & time (remember it always defaults to PST) & end date & time (watch out it will default to a month out, so you will have to change to the original stop date & time).  If  anyone knows a quicker way please chime in.  At least on the old MDM it was easy to add to the current active sale.

Re: Markdown Manager

Truly awful version of Markdown Manager. Clearly the people that are updating their programs and software are non-users of eBay. Changing things for the "sake of change" is ridiculous. There was absolutely no need to update the older version. Although I do not normally subscribe to the theory of "if it ain't broke don't fix it" but in this case I absolutely do. Twice as much work to do what you need to do especially when trying to select specific items for sale. Clunky and not user friendly at all.

Re: Markdown Manager

I have had the problem of it telling me everything is on sale but when I go in and check it only about 60% is actually on sale. My sales are down 34% and when I call in they tell me they know there's a problem & they're working on it, but nobody knows how long it's going to take to fix it. Who is the idiot that thought it was a good idea to bring this bug infested feature during the holidays??! Fees go up and service goes down. I've got to start my migration as well.

Re: Markdown Manager

So many problems with the new MM, it doesn't add all items, restricted to 500, different dates on listings for ending, and you can't add new items to the current sale.  Why they decided to launch this in 3rd Qtr is beyond me. Seriously considering doing away with my basic store since nothing seems to work correctly these days.

Re: Markdown Manager

It's not restricted to 500 items. I run sales with about 1200 items in new MM. I don't like the new from. Last MM everything was in one neat little space now you have to flip pages. Just read the options carefully and you can do more than 500. Big Problem is MM is now putting new listings of mine on automatic sale wihtout me doing anything. Anyone else seeing that?
