Is there an advantage having ebay manage your account?  Is it worth

the extra fees?  I am confused.  I tried to find where I could change the

setting to change to managing my account myself to save on their fees

and I could not find it.  Can someone tell me which place I need to go if I

indeed want to go back to managing managing the accounts my self?

Deeply frustrated.

Yes, you get to continue to sell here.

Without Managed Payments, you couldn't sell here.

Have a great day.

Ebay does not manage your account, they manage your payments. All sellers must be enrolled in Ebay's Managed Payments program if they wish to sell on ebay.

eBay does not "manage your account". They have taken over the processing of payments you receive, via their Managed Payments system. The fees are about the same as they were when PayPal was processing the payments. There is no opt-out.

PayPal was managing before, you never had control and you always paid them fees.  If you want to process funds yourself it would likley be a couple million in software and more for a server.

The only way to manage your own funds is to sell for cash at garage sales.

ebay manages the payments for you and the account management is left up to the ebayer

No way can you leave managed payments if you wish to sell on ebay.   Just like covid virus mandates you get the shot or your fired.

@shadowlightbooks

Because 14.5% is eBay's Final Value Fee (FVF) for the Books & Magazines category, which appears to be the category in which most of your items are listed.

Read this eBay help page for an explanation of all selling fees:  Selling fees

You seem to be confused....you are NOT paying EBAY fees because EBAY "manages your account".    You are paying EBAY fees because that is what EBAY charges if you want to "sell items on their website".

I think you are referring to Managed Payments is the company that EBAY hired to handle "financial transactions".     Ayden is the company which handles Managed Payments.   They only 30 cent handling fee for every transaction.  You cannot OPT OUT of managed payments.

Managed Payments is mandatory for all sellers (that is how you get paid).
