Timeline:
- Jan 4th sold 51 items
- Jan 4th received MC011 restriction
- Jan 5th submitted ID, bank statement, and receipts
- Jan 7th eBay asked for additional information (receipts for two items)
- Jan 8th submitted invoices for the two items
- Jan 8th 45 minutes later received email with permanent restriction
I was randomly permanently suspended after receiving and submitting required information from a MC011 restriction. I am ready baffled by this whole experience the last few days. I realize that MC011 restriction has to do with being automatically flagged for an increase in sales volume. This happened to be two years ago and I got my account back a few days later. However, this time, for some reason I was permanently banned after submitting the information. Based on the email on Jan 7th where they asked for additional information for the two items, that implies that my ID, bank statement, and the other orders submitted were not the issue. The provided receipts were invoices from Target and a Shopify site order confirmation. Everything was legitimate. Additionally, I have over 250 orders, 100% feedback, and zero issues with any order over the last two years. As always, eBay support is useless via chat and phone. They simply just read off a script claiming this is irreversible. I am currently waiting for a callback from a manager but I have very low expectations.
Any suggestions on what I should do?

I don't understand why store retail receipts aren't considered good enough for ebay. They're good enough for the IRS.

Stanley Tumblers probably did it....had 42!....where people were only allowed to buy one at a time at a store.
And that was reported on the news the other day.

Online they were 10 per order. eBay asked for receipts and they were provided.

The likely cause was your purchases were retail purchases, and Ebay following the lead of other bigger marketplaces has added to their protection against counterfeits, no longer accepting receipts from retailers as proof of authenticity for some brands.
The days of retail arbitrage for many brands are over, and Ebay is not telling you which those brands are in advance. And new brands are targeted each week.
Just so you know, the number of orders you have filled in the past, and your feedback are irrelevant to most issues when Ebay is dealing with safety and protection.

If that's the case, then that's ridiculous. These items will simply just not be posted on eBay and they are losing out on money. Retail arbitrage is not going anywhere lol.
If they are worried about the authenticity of the idea, they can authenticate it themselves how they do shoes and cards...

I see stores selling them...and I assume you might not be able to sell that many. Probably a store got you a permanent restriction or the official website.

That is a multi-million-dollar investment- they won't 'do it' for cups....

They would rather not have the sales than risk the negative PR and regulatory attention counterfeits bring. They are not making those sales anyway, since most buyers have figured out they can buy the products for less from Target, Walmart or Amazon. And those buyers will no longer consider buying them on Ebay.

Sorry for your situation. As a somewhat new seller selling expensive items in multiples will raise red flags every time. Lots of stolen merchandise on this platform and the law is leaning on eBay hard to clean it up. Not saying this is your situation, I'm just telling you this is the way it is. Stolen merchandise is a risk to the ebay community and eBay wants to ensure their customers that nothing back fires from making a purchase that might be possibly fraudulent.

This is a screenshot from the Stanley webpage.
For a single person to have multiples of multiples, is cause for concern.
Target and shopify don’t always mesh with the BRANDS. Apple had been very active in recent years with people selling the BRANDED product they bought on clearance from retailers.

I can't figure out why people pay $90 for a pink oversized coffee tumbler.

This sounds just like it was written by AI.
Inquiring minds need to know why.

Exactly! They're basically just more junk from China. They are way overpriced if you ask me.

Right. I'd rather spend that $90 on some more cappuccino, or go to Starbucks a few times. But on a plastic pink cup with Stanley on it? Nah..
