Timeline:
- Jan 4th sold 51 items
- Jan 4th received MC011 restriction
- Jan 5th submitted ID, bank statement, and receipts
- Jan 7th eBay asked for additional information (receipts for two items)
- Jan 8th submitted invoices for the two items
- Jan 8th 45 minutes later received email with permanent restriction
I was randomly permanently suspended after receiving and submitting required information from a MC011 restriction. I am ready baffled by this whole experience the last few days. I realize that MC011 restriction has to do with being automatically flagged for an increase in sales volume. This happened to be two years ago and I got my account back a few days later. However, this time, for some reason I was permanently banned after submitting the information. Based on the email on Jan 7th where they asked for additional information for the two items, that implies that my ID, bank statement, and the other orders submitted were not the issue. The provided receipts were invoices from Target and a Shopify site order confirmation. Everything was legitimate. Additionally, I have over 250 orders, 100% feedback, and zero issues with any order over the last two years. As always, eBay support is useless via chat and phone. They simply just read off a script claiming this is irreversible. I am currently waiting for a callback from a manager but I have very low expectations.
Any suggestions on what I should do?

So what aren't I seeing? I don't understand the frenzy on this one... I must be too old and have too many coffee cups.

Lots of stolen merchandise on this platform and the law is leaning on eBay hard to clean it up. Not saying this is your situation, I'm just telling you this is the way it is. Stolen merchandise is a risk to the ebay community and eBay wants to ensure their customers that nothing back fires from making a purchase that might be possibly fraudulent.

These agents are US CS eBay employees and may better serve you and your situation. Many positive posts with their ability to be helpful. In the past they were helpful concerning my issue at hand. Give it a try. It can't hurt.
Good luck to you
Does two years count as new account? If stolen merchandise is at question my proof of purchase was very much sufficient as they didn't question it last time I got a MC011. Thank you for the link I will reach out.

I hope things go in your favor. Good luck again!

This is a screenshot from the Stanley webpage.
For a single person to have multiples of multiples, is cause for concern.
Target and shopify don’t always mesh with the BRANDS. Apple had been very active in recent years with people selling the BRANDED product they bought on clearance from retailers.
The highlighted screenshot means nothing legally and is simply words put together in a product description. Additionally, there were a limited drop purchase from Target. Stanley has no say in what people do with their products once purchased, and that goes for any brand.
Target and Shopify not "meshing with the BRANDS," what does this mean Target simply sells... brands. Shopify simply hosts websites/platforms for BRANDS. If this was the issue I feel like that would've been stated.

They are limited edition collaboration with Target. This is the same question as why do people buy $500 sneakers... because exclusivity.

eBay is purposefully very vague when stating the reason for their actions.
Because the requested information was provided and did not change the status of the account, one could conclude someone (eBay or Stanley) does have a say.

If you think that's bad, check out the Pink Stanley x Starbucks ones LOL

I don't understand why store retail receipts aren't considered good enough for ebay. They're good enough for the IRS.

This isn't your first time? They probably figured it was too much to deal with and issued the permanent ban instead of continuing to keep an eye on you. I wouldn't hold out hope of being reinstated again, though certainly go for it.

It does not matter whether it means anything 'legally' or not. Selling on eBay is not a legal right, it is a privilege that eBay can revoke for any reason they want.
In addition to the Stanley item, you also sold a lot of Blox Fruits using a stock photo. Were you drop-shipping those by any chance?

For the same reasons they paid three or four thousand guilders for a single tulip bulb in the Netherlands in 1636. (Three or four thousand guilders was ten times the income of what we would call a skilled worker of the time.)
There have been many books since, but it's still hard to beat Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds, by Charles Mckay, 1841, as humans haven't really changed much. 🙂

Probably the same reason they pay crazy prices for shoes.

Guess it's a choice. Still think it's a ridiculous way to spend money...shoes, cups, whatever.
The young people today collect some strange things...pink, plastic coffee tumblers...makes one go hmmmmm....🤣

And probably just like shoes, never use the cup, right?
