I brought a lot of stamps on ebay for their cheap rate at $0.3 instead of $0.55 at post office. I sent a phone using the stamps, now it got stuck for weeks after first scan. Some letters were returned to me but not the package. I believe the stamps are counterfeit because they have some defects. Now the buyer wants a refund. They phone is sold for $230. What should I do?

USPS will replace damaged (genuine) stamps which have not been used for postage.

Many postal employees are unaware of this, but it is in the Domestic Mail Manual.

Issues with counterfeits aside, yes, you can get legitimate unused US postage stamps at over a 50% discount here. Might be a PITA mailing stuff using whole sheets of 3 or 5 cent stamps, but they are very available.

If the buyer has filed a INR case and you cannot prove the package has been delivered or that it is progress which I am assuming you cannot because you used the potentially counterfeit stamps you need to refund the buyer or eBay will close the case and refund the money from your account.

As far as where the package is that is something you are going to have to work out with the post office and hope they can find it which is going to be hard given you apparently don't have a tracking number.

Why would you send a $230 phone in anything other than an insured priority mail box or package just to try and save a few cents on postage. You may wind up chalking this one up as an expensive lesson learned. Counterfeiting postage is a federal crime but I doubt either the seller or China is really very concerned about that.

A lot of things coming out of China are suspect. They can and do counterfeit, copy and forge about anything you can name.

I talked to post office and I could do nothing until I bought stamps. I bought a roll. I opened package in front of my postmaster . She inspected and said they are counterfit. She opened a fraud case with postal inspectors and seized the counterfit stamps. Ebay needs to do their part and stop the sale of counterfit stamps. I want a full refund from this crooked seller.

I opened a charge back with my bank and got the money back. eBay requires a return to get refund, but if you have used them or handed it to authority then the only way to get refund is charge back through paypal or your bank.

The source of it all are from alibaba. The ebay distributors seems to have unlimited amounts of account they are still selling it, albeit in bulk only now. Just search "USPS forever 1000" and you will find their picture is the same as alibaba supplier. They could be drop shipping. Probably what they are doing is getting rid of their inventory and withdraw their money before their account gets banned.

This company does fake tax stamps for cigarettes as well. I reported it to the fed a while ago and they are still selling

I was complaining on the Ebay weekly chat on this a few months ago and they didn't care.

Put a few post on this board trying to warn people of the widespread fraud of fake stamps on Ebay and hoped Ebay would stop this.

Also ordered a couple of rolls which I was sure was fake to show to Po & for postal inspectors. Contacted numerous times and they did not care about the millions of dollars of fake stamps being sold here either.

Since no one cared I filed a claim on the counterfeit stamps with Ebay .Did get the money back ,but the seller was still on here with thousands of listings last time i looked .

Ebay & the sellers only ones who won & everyone else lost.
