Listings get no views and my performance rating is poor despite 100% feedback

"Thank you for being a loyal seller for 18 years." Says Ebay, the last 3 times I have called.

1. Feedback is 100% positive

2. 115 items for sale

3. I never receive views at all

4. So I started paying for promotions and selling went well until......

I moved and in the process could not find a shirt someone purchased and cancelled the listing.

(please don't tell me I neglected to say I'd be away....for a month. I know now I overlooked that in the chaos of moving)

I sold an item- a pair of jeans. The buyer wanted the same if I had it. I did. I explained I could not break Ebay rules. She agreed to purchase and I listed the item free shipping and just a few dollars. I obeyed the Ebay rules instead of going under the table to sell it. The woman changed her mind and that same day a savvy buyer swooped in and purchased it. I would have lost $8 selling it as free shipping and being so cheap once Ebay and Paypal took their cut.  I apologized to the savvy buyer and cancelled the listing.

THEN Ebay rated my performance as low.

If you see my listings there are NO VIEWS except by me.

Ebay is not allowing me to promote my listings now and I'm getting NO VIEWS.

I have called them 3 times. The first two reps said they would escalate to customer support and I would hear from them. CRICKETS.... I called again today and Louis was a real jerk and said I have been misinformed by the first two reps.

If I get no views, If I can't promote it's catch 22. I have 100% feedback. I suggest we all move over to Etsy, Poshmark, Marketplace, Mercari and Offer Up. Those platforms might be better. Did you know there is an app to do that automatically?

If any of you have a solution I will modify and exonerate Ebay. Otherwise....Ebay is really sticking it to me after thanking me for 100% feedback and 18 loyal years.

Ebay: Where is YOUR LOYALTY?  Sorry but I am really  >_<

Did you also cancel another listing (ice cube trays)?  Unfortunately, out of stock cancellations are the kiss of death on a selling account.  We are judged harshly for them.  If you had two, that's bad, but if it's three and based on the number of sales you had in the past year I imagine you are demoted until they start to roll off.   Feedback doesn't matter.

Are you familiar with your dashboard?  It will show your stats and what has harmed your seller rating.

Seems like you had no idea how sellers are rated.

Your 100% FB is totally irrelevant.

Your cancellations are a measure of how bad you are as a seller.  You earned low rated status.

And chosen merchandise to sell which requires promotion to make any sales is not a winning strategy unless you have huge margins and deep inventory of each item.

I think you will be disappointed with your used clothing sales on any site, but should you move to another site it will probably not cost Ebay any sales. There is too much used clothing and too many used clothing sellers here. Shain and other sites have cut into used clothing sales, while the supply of used clothing has risen.

There are apps that will allow you to cross list over different platforms. It can be frustrating especially if you have a great track record. Don't let it get you down and jump ship. It will not make a difference to Ebay and all you will be doing is limiting your audience. IMHO Things are slow for many.

Try Mercari or Posh to sell your clothing items.

Before you move to another selling platform, make sure you have clearly read and understood that platform's terms and conditions and selling rules. One of the few sins on Ebay is canceling transactions.

You don't want to be on another platform's community forums having the same issues of falling to properly abide by their rules down to the letter.

Since most sellers have 100% feedback, your 100% feedback makes you an average seller like the rest of us. That 100% feedback does not make you special or extraordinary

You have some nice stuff. That stabilized blue Afghan turquoise is beautiful. Keep it head up and try to run some sales, change titles and end and sell similar. Good luck

You have some nice items, but because you are such an over saturated market, I feel bad for you. But dont think that the other sites you mentioned are not over saturated with used clothing too, think again. Along with they sell lots of designer clothing items, and that makes your compeition very tough. But I do wish you good luck with whatever you decide.

Im just curious why every seller who announces their departure in here thinks that all the other sellers should leave with them?

I suggest we all move over to Belgium.  I think there's an app to do that automatically.

@the-best_things

You are selling clothing...a very over saturated category.  Your shop is very nice & your prices are fair as well.  Perhaps stay competitive, offer coupons perhaps & lower your prices.  The clothing category is a tough one.

I wish you well what ever you decide.

Are you allow to do auctions? Auctions usually get views. Of course, there are going to be some low auction sales. Trick is to get buyers looking at your stuff. May take a few weeks to get lookers. If you can afford to lose a bit of money I would do that. Something .99 starting at an auction will draw buyers to your site. It is a cost factor at the beginning...just have to make sure you charge the correct shipping charge. Not everything is on auction...just a few items to start.

I find your post a bit unclear.  Cancelling a sale for out of stock is the worst thing you can do on eBay.   Your FB has nothing to do with how you're rated.  Your ratings are all on the Seller Hub>Dashboard.   I'm unclear about your second scenario & what happened, but if canceled b/c you would have lost $8, I wish you would have come here first, because a 2nd defect is certainly not worth $8!  Fulfilling your orders is super important to eBay & rightfully so.  1 OOS defect is not great, but 2 is quite bad for your account.   You may want to familiarize yourself with what you're actually rated on.  I'm sure the other sites have their own metrics, as well, so you need to do that regardless of what site you sell on.

Sorry to hear about your view troubles.  As a seller since 1996, primarily a clothing seller, I can tell you the problem with your listings is the brands.   Yes, clothing is saturated.  It has been for the last 15+ years, but I still sell clothing almost every day.  However, the key is selling brands & sizes that are in demand, not just what you happen to have on hand.   I personally would not bother with 98% of your brands, so before you source, you may want to look at which brands are popular.   Your prices are reasonable, but a bit all over the place, some too high, some too low.  Those Secret Treasures (walmart) sleep shorts are probably $5 new & $2 on clearance (cuz they were prolly part of a set anyway).

Yes, there are several that allow you to port your listings to multiple sites.  They are for the most part pretty glitchy & buggy from what I've heard (and from my software expertise) b/c platforms for different sites are radically different, so one size fits all (software that basically converts one size to all) doesn't work all that great.  From what I've heard, they function, but a fair amount of your own tweaking is required anyway.  Oops, I almost wrote 'twerking' 😃  You can certainly turn around your account health, but you'll need to focus on what's in demand in order to garner more sales & that's true regardless of which site you're on.  Also, what brands are in demand changes all the time.  Keeps it interesting LOL.
