I recently had a item removed because my title had a question mark beside the hallmark. Many sellers do that, for example: Juliana? Nine times out of 10 they are NOT Juliana pieces, but that is allowed.

My title was for a necklace signed RLL, which many existing listings have attributed to Ralph Lauren. Because of looking at the other listings on Ebay, I concluded that it also must be Ralph Lauren. I am not at all familar with RLL, but I do extensively search the web for the info. What is saw through many listings is that it is Ralph Lauren. Also on ETSY listings, the same thing. . . . . Ralph Lauren

My issue is this: If mine is removed, then all the others must also be removed. I am watching to see if it will be removed.

What I would like to know from the community is this: Have you seen or know of the older Lauren pieces hallmark? I have seen on the new jewelry R R(reversed) and lined up with the L. I have also seen R L L which is the hallmark on my necklace.

Any info would be appreciated.

Lilebrat4, I don't think it's a good idea for sellers to use the ? on an item if they're not sure. In your case, I think you should probably have just said it's an RLL without the question mark. The RLL jewelry is fashion jewelry, meaning none of it's expensive or made with precious metal. And no one would copy or replicate inexpensive pieces like that, as it's just not worth it. I just looked at other RLL listings and there is one for an RLL "turquoise" necklace; there is a ? after the turquoise, but it is definitely not turquoise and the seller should be aware of that. As long as you know what you're selling you don't need the question mark.

You're only allowed to add ? to every title if you're an ebay "pet" like the auction queen....

? next to a designer name is considered keyword spamming and not allowed.

If you do not know the brand, do not list it with a name.

In other words ... your issue is that eBay does not operate their site in the manner that you want them to.

While you have every right to hold that opinion, history would indicate that eBay is probably not going to care what you think nor will they necessarily do anything about those other listings.

"We can not be expected to fully enforce our own policies, why should buyers and sellers be expected to comply".

The same rules should be applied to everyone speeding but the law does not and is not able to catch them all. This is more of a case of life is not fair. It was never meant to be. Sometimes, making an example of a few sends a message to all.

fleecebay has many different rules for different sellers

they pick and choose who they "enforce the rules" against and who gets a pass.

Thank you. I appreciate your kind advice, and shall try to remember no "questions marks?\" But as I had not heard of RLL, I googled it and dozens and dozens of listings with those letters attributed it to Ralph Lauren. Who knows? I don't and I really am not too concerned with a NAME, but just trying to sell and earn money to supplement SS. The End.
