I had a listing for a UVC (ultraviolet) wand which was removed. The explanation in the email that i received stated "We had to remove your listing because it didnt follow our Prescription devices policy." If you're not familiar with this item, it does not require a prescription. It's a handheld item which emits a specific type of UV light that kills, disinfects, sanitizes, and sterilizes over 99% of germs and bacteria. This is not a new technology and has been proven by every 3rd party testing facility for several decades already. I'm not new to ebay but also don't have ton of experience. My hunch is that one of those words in the description triggered this. I would like to relist it without causing a problem. How do i go about finding out what the problem is, if it was in error, and what caused the removal? There are many versions and designs of this type of item however this one was my own brand and the design was unlike others being offered and sold on ebay, which are still available, as they should be.

If you're not sure EXACTLY why it was ended i would not recommend re-listing it until you've contacted ebay customer and made the appropriate changes.

I think any listing with a claim to kill germs/bacteria right now is a gamble.......because of the virus problem. They are very sensitive about false claims as some State Attorneys General are watching pretty closely.
Any listing that is taken down is usually taken down again even IF CS has admitted there is an error........ and you can get a suspension...... which even if you "beat" it, that fight will take longer than the suspension usually.
I would not relist it.......

Is it possible that this is a result of a competitor complaint? Or does ebay not work like that, and whether correct or not, it's most likely a result of words or phrases that triggered this?
Not really any way to tell...........I would guess it's bots........just because we know they have been taking stuff that isn't "approved" down in relation to the virus since the trouble started....... Not sure how much ebay pays attention to individual reports........

Hi, below is a link to the Prescription devices policy. You might want to review it to see if anything jumps out at you that might apply to your removed listing. Some devices need to be placed in certain categories and the like.
Do not relist until you have talked to customer service about their error. There is too great a chance this may get removed again. Each time it happens, eBay ramps up the punishment.
You can reach out to them thru the Help & Contact link on most pages, or thru their Facebook or Twitter accounts. Good luck and let us know what happens.
