I have a listing for a Jean Jacket that I have no choice but to sell through auction. I have received many offers well above selling price and at first, I was super excited. However, they all tell me the same thing, " hey I'm X and I'm interested, text me at ***-***-**** to discuss payment. They also ask me if I have a Paypal. The first time it happened I texted them and they would ask for my email which I didn't give because that's against the rules. But all my offers end up like this and some of the accounts are old and have positive reviews and I'm confused because my item has been relisted 3 times and I just wish I could have a set price so that they'd leave me alone.

YES, your being SCAMMED. They want your email to send a FAKE you have been paid notice to. They trick sellers into sending items that were never paid for. I suggest you only list as a buy it now set to require payment right away.

This is a clear scam, Any attempt to take you away from eBay to make a sale should be ignored.
Not only is it against eBay policy, But its not safe at all, They could potentially get there money back.
Odd that the accounts "seem" to legit people, But im not surprised.

You have a choice to sell as buy it now, why don't you have that choice?

List it as a fixed price and require immediate payment, do away with best offer and you'll do away with most scammers.

I'm with some of the others. Since the beginning bid on your Auction is so high that it might not get any bidders, why not just list it at that (or a similar) price as a Buy It Now and require immediate payment?
Lots of buyers know the price of a great jean jacket, and it would leave you in the same position ($) after the sale.
It may also lead buyers to you who want the jacket, cutting down on the possibility of a refund later. Good luck!
