Listing removed for a policy violation... It's a compatible water filter. So why?

Good day, thank you for reading this. I'm a bit confused, as I have been trying to sell refrigerator water filters that are compatible with the refrigerators maker. The listing makes it clear, it is compatible, it is not the actual filter from the manufacturer.  What patent could it be that this filter is violating? I wrote to the manufacturer asking for a copy of the patent, I received no response.

If there truly is a patent, wouldn't the manufacturer need to disclose it? And what patents could there possibly be on a refrigerator water filter?

Thanks.

Using " their " name when not selling their products can trigger that.  I'm sure there are several design patents on them.

Most of those filters are counterfeit from china. I received several a couple of years ago from an amazon return pallet and not knowing listed them and they were quickly taken down. The couple that were not taken down by ebay was Vero'd by Whirlpool (Whirlpool is VERY aggressive in take downs). I just trashed them...live and learn.

Using your logic no aftermarket parts would be available for anything.

Exactly right! If a company makes an iPhone 14 case - they HAVE to mention it's compatible with the iPhone 14.

So what exactly is the issue here?

Worse - there doesn't seem to be anyone at eBay to review / discuss this.

Extremely frustrating.

But what does 'counterfeit' mean? As I wrote below - if a person is selling a compatible case for an iPhone 14 - it's not counterfeit - it's compatible with. If it CLAIMS to be an Apple product - then you are 100% correct - it's counterfeit. But nowhere on my listing do I claim it's made by the 'actual' manufacturer - I state it's made by a 3rd party.

So - how can this be an issue?

I see a recently sold item that shows a picture of a box that uses the name brand Frigidaire, yet the item is actually Aqua Blue.

Looks like you may have bought some counterfeit filters.

"Compatible with" name brands can only be used in the description part of the listing not the title.

BUT counterfeit parts cant be sold anywhere.
