Link in Listing's Breadcrumbs it Incorrect Listing

I have a listing for a product that other sellers sell. I believe what is happening is that Ebay is linking my listing to another listing with the same MPN, but whoever originally created the listing for this part number created it as a 2-pack. Which is really frustrating because we don't sell it as a 2-pack. So now I have this link in the breadcrumbs to the EPID which Ebay has automatically linked to for this 2-pack, and it says we're the top seller. I don't want buyers to think they are getting a 2-pack from us. Does anyone know if there is a way to remove the connection these two listings have? I never assigned an EPID to my listing so there must be some automatic detection of the MPN.

Guessing you are asking about items shown in Similar sponsored items.

Looking at your listing, I don't see anything that would indicate you are connected to the other seller except their items are also shown in your listing which has become the norm to better the shopping experience.

@equipatron,

That highlighted link is going to the eBay Product Catalog for that item. You're correct, in this case, the catalog is incorrect. Unfortunately, this is often the case, because eBay used Machine Learning to develop it, but they didn't take enough care to ensure that the database was correct.

The only way to correct this on your listing is to NOT use the product catalog on your listing. If the information in the catalog is wrong, then you have to uncheck that box for "Prefill this listing with the eBay catalog info" when you create or edit the listing.

There used to be a way to report wrong data on product pages. Originally there were flags on the page, but those are long gone.

Wondering if @shipscript or devon@ebay might be able to let us know if it's still possible to report bad info on product pages? Would that go to the sdsupport email or is that a different team?

Re: Link in Listing's Breadcrumbs it Incorrect Listing

Thanks for the heads up and additional information. Not something I would think most shopper would see or find as it is way down at the bottom of the page. Hope the OP gets it sorted out.  Heck many sellers are lucky if buyers get even far enough down the page to reading the description!

Re: Link in Listing's Breadcrumbs it Incorrect Listing

Much of eBay's catalog was populated by larger sellers and database purchases, while eBay filled in some missing items through seller submissions and corrections: dl-ebay-catalogsubmission@ebay.com. Yes, there was once a flag to correct catalog items, but I don't see that option anywhere now. The structured data team has been managing item specifics, so I don't know if they also handle catalog data (although the two data pools do look like the same task).

Thank you @shipscript !

Hey @equipatron - send an email to the address in Ship's post above with a link to the product page and the correction request for the title.

Short of getting the catalog corrected, the easy way for you to avoid it is what @lacemaker3  said, just uncheck the box for using catalog info & type in your own description.

Re: Link in Listing's Breadcrumbs it Incorrect Listing

In the pass I reported many glaring errors, and it took forever for ebay to fix them, if they did at all.  Worse was some clever sellers figured out a way to use this to their advantage and would deliberately use an incorrect entry, often the MPN, to get their listing to show up in search results where it otherwise was not suppose to.  When I pointed out this abuse, ebay did finally take some action to prevent this.  Regardless the catalog is still be a mess in some areas.
