Why is it so difficult for a buyer to leave feed back after they recieve the item they purchased? If everyone left feedback that bought something seller's would have more stars and that means for the buyer that the buyer will recieve what he or she purchased. I am a seller here on Ebay and I find it sort of rude or inconsiderate for the buyer not to leave feedback. I also buy things on Ebay and I have always left feedback as the seller to me has left feedback. My solution to this problem is that I do not leave feedback to the buyer unless the buyer leaves feedback for me first. I do appreciate all of my customers for shopping with me and at my store whether they leave feedback or not, I just wish more buyers would leave feedback .

I'm sure this has been said already, but feedback is voluntary. I also leave it after the buyer has, and I think I'm at about 20-25%. Many people don't know or care about feedback anymore. Try not to worry about it.

I would just have to immediately leave a negative instead of waiting and thinking about it. There is no way if I run across a bad seller I would want Ebay to leave them a positive for me.
I forgot to write "optional" tool. I take it you would not opt in, and I am sure others share that concern. I would do it, as I buy 20-30 things a week on ebay, so feedback takes quite a while. It is a bit impersonal, but it conveys the basics - someone paid for an item and someone delivered it, as agreed. And it would be mixed in with regular feedback, too. For newer sellers looking to get every feedback they can, it would serve the purpose.

I just told this story in another topic:
I get his buyer begging me to go from $200 to $130 because their home was burned and their kids wanted the bee wax ASAP. I am a down to earth guy, so I bought into the **bleep**. I even packed them immediately and got my mail carrier, friend of mine, to pick it up after he had delivered my mail, I just went around the block and found him doing his job.
Day later, after priority mail delivered, sent a message thanking them for the purchase and to please leave a feedback. I am still waiting for the feedback.
This is the last time I do something noble for any buyer.

I do leave feedback for buyers and sellers. However, feedback for buyers is rather meaningless since all you can leave is a positive. Sellers can't really say anything that isn't positive. The only way a seller can say anything is when the buyer leaves you a comment that you can reply to. The main advantage of buyer feedback is to see what they say about their sellers as that will give you more insight as to how their transactions went. Otherwise, I don't see the point because all they did was pay which is required if they want your item. So it's only a forum to say thank you for your purchase and for not making any trouble for me along the way. I don't think there is anything rude about not leaving feedback because it is voluntary. It's simply a courtesy.

I wouldn't care about the lack of feedback but the loss of good money on that deal would annoy me. Their house burned and they just had to have bees wax??

That pretty much reduces it to a count of purchases. I'm not sure that a lot of buyers, if they thought about it for a minute, would really want their family and friends to see how massive their eBay shopping addiction is.
I get quite a few requests each year from buyers, not to leave feedback.

I have experienced that same thing, once in a while. That, and work addresses used to "hide" the shopping habit.
On the feedback subject, my auto-feedback proposal was to help buyers leave feedback for sellers automatically, so it is really not a "count of purchases". It could be considered a count of successful transactions for the seller, which is the goal, I think. Sellers are already able to set auto-feedback for buyers, if they wish.

I use the same practice. As soon as I receive feedback, I give it. I haven't got a clue why this seems to difficult or unimportant to buyers/sellers. They certainly don't like to be kept waiting if they have a stupid question that is often already answered in my descriptions. There is nearly as much politics in selling on eBay now as there in the govt'! Sad, isn't it?!

You're right. Buyer had to search for the item, vet the seller and the listing, decide if it met their needs, decide if the price and shipping were fair, compare it to other listings, and earn the money that they paid with.

Sadly, buyers may have received abusive treatment by sellers when they messaged them about a problem~there was no "working out"~just intimidation to try to get the buyer to go away. The abuse wasted time and may have made buyers less willing to message a seller with a problem, so to avoid a bad situation, the buyer may just leave a neg and move on.
That, and many sellers think allowing a return should be means of a positive experience like they are doing the buyer a favor. Almost every negative you read on a seller's profile reads the same. "I would have offered you to return the item if you would have contacted me first".
Yes, like a refund makes everything rainbows and lollipops when the buyer just wanted the item they bought in the condition specified. If they wanted their money, they just wouldn't have bought in the first place. Maybe get it right the first time, and there wouldn't be a need for a return would make more sense than relying on the buyer to contact you for a return when a return doesn't make everything all right.

Auto feedback for sellers from buyers has been proposed numerous times through the years, but rejected because, as stated in this thread, you will inspire those buyers who were less than satisfied but decided to leave no negative feedback (to just let it go) to leave that negative feedback so the seller would not get an automatic positive when that is not what the buyer intended.
I've received messages from sellers who posted a positive for me and would I please post one for them. I explained that I didn't leave feedback intentionally as I didn't think you would want future potential buyers to see that you sent the rare, vintage, fragile porcelain figurine in a poly mailer. Or that you didn't want future buyers to see that the item has significant undisclosed damage, and then I detail it. Apologies come then. Not leaving feedback may be a definite decision when someone does not want to cause damage by leaving a neg.
Feedback is voluntary. Buyer pays, seller sends item. And that is all that is required.

Maybe they just didn't get to it yet. Many post in batches and they do have 60 days to post it. But reality can be that it just isn't something they are focused on.
