Why do buyers not leave feedback? I’ve had excellent experiences with buyers and I leave feedback for them but they don’t for me. It’s frustrating. Thank you

"Why do buyers not leave feedback?" Maybe because it's not required?
And, although some sellers do include reminder messages in their packages, I think most of us see that as a risky idea. Sometimes a buyer is not entirely 100% thrilled with some aspect of his transaction, but decides to forego leaving FB. A gentle nudge from a seller, however, well-intentioned, can sometimes get that seller a FB he doesn't really want to see.

You have received 76 from buyers and sellers and have left 101 - that is not a bad ratio considering it is not compulsory to leave FB.

My experiece is its a 50/50 shot even if you leave feedback first. Some buyers are not on ebay site unless they are looking to purchase something. Time elapses and they forget.

Be careful what you wish for.
Forcing or pushing buyers to leave feedback can backfire against the seller sometimes. You don't know why they haven't left feedback and it's best to leave it alone.

I noticed this same trend. I have been sending a reminder message after the transaction about leaving feedback, but my buyers seem only interested in buying my items and not in leaving feedback.
I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that sellers can no longer leave negative feedback for buyers anymore, so the excitement of completing a transaction for positive feedback is no longer a driving factor. I was advised to no longer leave positive feedback for buyers until they leave feedback first, because the feedback system is becoming moot. Something about how it's just another example of saturated corporate ideas made for protecting buyers wasn't thoroughly thought through with customer interaction in mind.
Good luck!

Because it is voluntary, cumbersome, and because buyers have almost zero incentive to do it.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, blah blah blah its completely voluntary- but don't you realize if you are a 'small' seller, feedback can be VERY important! Why? Imagine yourself as a buyer, looking for a book (as an example, I sell books SO I KNOW THERE IS A LOT OF COMPETITION OUT THERE, not only from other cutthroat eBay book sellers but we have the big monster Amazon to deal with!!) My book is selling competitively for 15 bucks, and I have a 100% fb rating- but only 1200 buyers have left feedback on the books I have sold. Another seller is selling the same book, same condition, same price and has the same 100% FB but 1400 buyers are showing. WHO WOULD YOU BUY FROM, duh!!!! Hell, I might buy from a 98% fb BOOKSELLER SAME PRICE who has sold 5000 books! DO YOU UNDERSTAND??? Any smart buyer will either buy from Amazon or go with the bookseller who has the big stats, its called longevity and dependability. As I buyer on eBay- as most products from different sellers are priced exactly the same- I look at FB percentage first and number of sales second. If a person has 100% FB but only 12 people left it, heck yes I will hesitate and maybe go for the 98% FB after 300 people left it. DO YOU UNDERSTAND???

Yes WE UNDERSTAND, so what is your point?
The conversation at hand is feedback is voluntary, you provide a reason why you believe feedback is important, now...would you like to complete your thought here and propose an idea or alternative? Are you intending to suggest feedback should be mandatory? Are you intending to suggest feedback should be "STRONGLY" encouraged? Are you intending to suggest we should do nothing? Are you just venting?
All sellers understand, but what would you like us to take away from your rant?...(other than the obvious points that you have stated regarding importance of feedback)

Well, I apologize for ranting, I as a seller am frustrated with the lack of 'good' feedback we as sellers receive. I propose that eBay institute a program, which is this: If a buyer does not leave feedback within 30 days, than it will be assumed that the transaction is satisfactory, so an eBay generated automated response with positive feedback would be applied, and a comment is seen like "Item received". That way, the seller gets credited with a successful sale and the buyer goes merrily along and everybody is content in the eBay world. I think buyers do look at feedback ratings, and new sellers have a rough hill to climb in establishing good creds.

You may be a great seller( appears that you are) , but as has been explained here over, and over, and over, and over, and over (get it) some buyers that are less than 100% satisfied may just choose to leave no feedback.
Pushing for feedback (via reminder from the seller) , or if there was "automatic positive" feedback could result in an experience less than positive for the seller. Just because I do not leave a less than positive feedback on a purchase does not always mean I was happy.

Bad idea! Let's say I was not entirely happy with the transaction but not to the extent that I'd leave bad feedback. If I knew that a "positive" would be given unless I left something myself within 30 days, I'd get ahead of that by leaving feedback that the seller would not want.

Bad idea. Here's why: Suppose you make a purchase from me. You discover that it's not quite what it seemed to be by my picture and description. But you still like it and will use it; however, you decide to just skip leaving FB. Later you discover that eBay had decided for you that you had had a great experience with me. Wouldn't you be upset? If I were in your shoes, I would.

I don't even need to explain why it's a bad idea because the last 3 people already explained.
I had a bad experience with a seller, i mean, multiple items in the bulk lot were not as described and it had some decent value implications, like not a couple bucks, but I didn't leave a negative feedback. I am still waiting to leave a negative. if the individual begins selling their items again, I will leave the negative, but they were talking about not selling anymore, i keep a close eye on them, cuz im still upset.
