You will need to explain what "now they don't like" means.
But if a buyer used PayPal to purchase a knife from one of your Managed Payments listings, then PayPal's policies would still apply to the transaction.
In that case, the issue would not be what you are selling, but rather what your buyer is buying. I know that may seem like a minor distinction, but it is not.

they don't like meaning they have limited my paypal account
managed payments still go thru paypal?
i thought ebay cut them out of the process?

That is correct. If PayPal limited your account, it's not for selling a knife on eBay. Why don't you call them and ask?

With Managed Payments, the buyer makes a payment to Managed Payments, and Managed Payments then forwards the net amount to the seller's bank account.
The buyer is still free to use PayPal to make the inital payment to Managed Payments. What Managed Payment eliminates is the ability to deposit the net amount to a seller's PayPal account. It must go to a bank account.
In other words, a buyer's PayPal account might still be involved in the transaction, but not your PayPal account.

to releasethekracken: it is definitely for the knives, they said so.
to luckythe winner: Oh. thanks for the clarification.

You said you listed one knife here. If they said it's "for the knives", they're talking about your personal website.
Again, your PayPal account doesn't come into play on eBay. PayPal has no way of knowing the PayPal account of a seller who lists something when they're in Managed Payments, because your money isn't sent there.

paypal specifically named my website & my ebay id in separate emails.
apparently, per Luckythe winner, paypal is involved on ebay when a buyer uses paypal to buy a knife.

Did you use PayPal to sell knives on eBay before you signed up for managed payments?
I see multiple knife sales on your eBay account over the course of at least a year.

You said PayPal's email mentioned your eBay account. Did it also specifically mention a Managed Payment listing, or did it just talk about knives?

So it's your belief that PayPal was OK with you selling knives here until you stopped using them to receive payments?
Whatever.

my ebay id was enrolled in managed payments on Feb 8th. I sold knives all last year. it specifically mentioned 2 listings by title (they have been listed for months)
my website has had knives for about a year or two. paypal referenced knives there generally like 'riot knives', 'combat knives', 'daggers'.
I cannot say if paypal is noticing now that ebay cut them off but the timing seems odd

Just got off the phone with paypal
My account was apparently in some limitation limbo even though I deleted all knives so he is submitting my info to get it okayed
However, the CS rep said that paypal is NOT allowing ANY KNIVES ANYMORE
Not sure if this is accurate but, probably for me, it is
MY QUESTION: CAN YOU CREATE AN EBAY ID THAT DOES NOT CONNECT TO PAYPAL ?
