Just thought I'd share a little buyer story

July 19 - buyer made an offer on a dress.   I accepted

July 23 - after 4 days of crickets, automated process opened an unpaid item case

July 27 - after another 4 days of crickets, automated process closed the unpaid item case

July 27 - item relisted

August 3 - buyer write and said she'd like to pay now, and would I please cancel the unpaid item case and invoice her

August 3 - I explained the case was closed but that I'd revised the relisted item to the $ she'd offered and she could buy and pay when ready

August 7 - after more crickets I wrote to the buyer and asked if she had changed her mind and didn't want the dress after all, because if so, I would revise the listing back to its original price and restore the MAKE OFFER feature
August 7 - she wrote back to say she wants it but wants me to call eBay and remove the unpaid item case

August 7 - I wrote back and explained that the case can not be reopened or the original listing restored

August 7 - she wrote back to say that this is UNFAIR

so I revised my listing back to its original form and returned her ID to my BBL

Meanwhile a buyer is mad because her skirt is slightly lighter than it shows on her monitor and has called my picture DECEPTIVE

I think silly season is officially on.

I'm surprised the buyer didn't try to "extort" you with her intention to purchase... "If you don't remove that strike, then I'm not going to buy that dress or any other item from you. How you like them apples??"

You have just outlined the steps in the proper procedure!
Complete with adding that ID to your BBL!

You are more generous that I would be.  She would have been on my BBL after the UID was closed.

A seller here once told me that he sold a man's red shirt.  The buyer files SNAD and throws a hissy fit because it's the WRONG RED and doesn't match his pants.  He did he know this?  He had held his pants up to the picture of the shirt on his monitor to compare.

🙄

We won't even get into the whole notion of wearing a red shirt with red pants.

You've never heard of Santa Claus?

Well, four weeks ago I sold a book on antique doll clothes that I suspect was purchased by an overseas buyer since it went to a freight forwarder warehouse.  I keep getting emails about how there should have been first a pattern - then an "insert" in the book complete with fuzzy photos of what was supposedly missing.  Now this book was published in 1988, and there was no mention of any pattern or insert on the cover so how am I supposed to know anything about an insert?   My description made no mention of any pattern or insert.

I've told her twice to return it for a refund if she was not satisfied with her purchase.   I suspect I'll get a feedback ding rather than a return request.

I did BBL her when I closed the UID but foolishly took her off my BBL when she wrote me a few days ago.

Color is a nightmare. I had a disappointed buyer once who thought that the blue pants she bought would be "more pink".

I have a neg somewhere - I think this ID - complaining that 1  1/2" Diameter BRIGHT ORANGE Chanel earrings I sold her were:

TOO BRIGHT AND TOO BIG!!!

Some buyers are apparently simply stupid

These buyers need to make their purchases in person & not on the internet

As someone who worked in retail for many years, they don't necessarily do any better with purchases in person.
