Just thought I'd share a little buyer story

July 19 - buyer made an offer on a dress.   I accepted

July 23 - after 4 days of crickets, automated process opened an unpaid item case

July 27 - after another 4 days of crickets, automated process closed the unpaid item case

July 27 - item relisted

August 3 - buyer write and said she'd like to pay now, and would I please cancel the unpaid item case and invoice her

August 3 - I explained the case was closed but that I'd revised the relisted item to the $ she'd offered and she could buy and pay when ready

August 7 - after more crickets I wrote to the buyer and asked if she had changed her mind and didn't want the dress after all, because if so, I would revise the listing back to its original price and restore the MAKE OFFER feature
August 7 - she wrote back to say she wants it but wants me to call eBay and remove the unpaid item case

August 7 - I wrote back and explained that the case can not be reopened or the original listing restored

August 7 - she wrote back to say that this is UNFAIR

so I revised my listing back to its original form and returned her ID to my BBL

Meanwhile a buyer is mad because her skirt is slightly lighter than it shows on her monitor and has called my picture DECEPTIVE

I think silly season is officially on.

When I read the original post, I didn't notice you was the op, I thought the op was a newbie (ish)

With all your experience, I can't believe you unblocked the buyer.

Doesn't it come around with those colored eggs sometime in the spring?

Just when you think you have read it all here on the boards.

You are so patient. I would have been done with the buyer and just kept her on the block list.

Hopefully, they don't buy from you and pull a fast one.

I have read here on the boards that there are a lot of buyers:

- Filing item not received, you refund, item arrives, they keep

- Item not as described and send back empty box or a totally diffferent item of lesser value

- Item not as described and send back a broken one, not the one you sent

This is only some of the things that I have read about.

Not everybody.

If I block someone, the block is permanent.

Actually, I wasn't limiting it to just ebay - and, nobody knows when it will poke through.  😃

@ed8108

Some buyers are apparently simply stupid

From a previous career selling woodstoves--- never sell a woodstove to a fireman unless you are installing it too.

Those guys are ... crazy. I mean, they run INTO burning buildings so safety is not exactly topmost in their minds.

Second worst are architects.

Full disclosure:  One of my many nephews is a fireman- both wildfire and now municipal. And yeah, he's nuts.

Well, this guy wears red pants and red shirts and makes it look real good!

Note the matching masks.

Yes, but he knows what he's doing.  I have a feeling the average red pants/red shirt wearing 'match 'em on the intertubez' may not be exactly fashion forward.

His suits match. Most people wearing the same top and bottom of a colour don't have completely matching colours.

You are more generous than I would be with Buyer #1.

Re color — had a buyer open a return because the black item he purchased was a “dark black” and I didn’t explain that clearly enough in my description and he thought it was a “light black.”

Accepted the return. He never returned.

I not only block after UID I block if I catch them retracting their bids too.

That worked once when bidder retracted on an item, then when I got a new run of similar items to sell I got a nastygram complaining why couldn't they bid.  Because you violated eBay policy, genius.  I just ignored it.

And yes, you have to presume the bidders not out looking to scam you have the mentality of a small child and spell everything out in great detail.  If I had a nickel for every time someone asked me something that was either pictured or stated outright in the listing I could start my own auction site.  With blackjack.  And hookers.
