Item delivered. Buyer claims tracking shows a different zip code. The zip is in the same area buyer lives. What should I do next?

It is unproductive for you to try to resolve this particular situation by sending messages back and forth through the eBay Message Center, if that is what you are doing.
I would encourage the buyer to file an Item Not Received case.
The case will be decided in your favor if:
a) You shipped the package to the address attached to the payment.
b) There is a Delivered scan.
c) You got a Signature Required if the value was $750.00 or more.
d) A winning case in your favor gets negative feedback removed too.
Follow the procedure and upload the tracking number into the case when asked along with the Delivered result.
The buyer can possibly get a refund through the eBay Money Back Guarantee or their credit card company. The important thing is that you won't be providing the refund.

Tell the buyer that according to the tracking, the item was delivered and the zip code is HIS zip code.
If he still claims he did not receive the item, have him file a INR (item not received) case with ebay.
If he does file a INR case and the tracking shows "delivered" you should win the case.

Inform Buyer that USPS has scanner and they will know exactly where it was scanned delivered. If he did not get it then he will have to contact USPS to resolve and get status changed to be protected under ebay guideline. If you print label from address he provided then you do not have to worry even if package is loss. Ebay protects u and buyer in that instance.
A few Buyers lately pulling crap like this now and when they find out GPS scanner and process then they go away.

You joined eBay today??
Is this a legitimate question or a copy/paste from others?

Assuming you printed the label on ebay, have you sent the full address of the label to the buyer and ask if it is correct? If so, and he says it's correct........tell him to contact his local PO and find out when/where it was delivered.......

You don’t sell or buy anything? Why are you here? Looks like they are doing exactly what you are doing, having multiple accounts. That has No honest purpose and shouldn’t be permitted.

@soap_750I would suggest to the buyer that they confirm their info on their ebay account and verify the shipping address. They may have moved to a new location in the same zip code, or bought something and had it shipped to a friend or relative and forgot to change it back.
If you used ebay to purchase and print, you're covered. If you purchased elsewhere, check what you typed in against what shows on the ebay record. Let the buyer know once you've confirmed the info. If you shipped USPS, tell them they can open a theft case with them. If their shipping address is different from what's on their account, tell them that they have to contact ebay and report that their account has been hacked.
If they are just messaging you, they would need to open a case on ebay as an Item not Received. Yes, they can still pursue it with their cc bank or Paypal past 30 days, but if you shipped it to the correct address and tracking confirms that you did, you should be covered. Best of Luck!

Many posters on the community boards use posting IDs to offer the vast wealth of information they dispense. The reason is that we are often attacked and abused by posters who don't like our replies and in order to avoid retaliatory action taken on buying or selling accounts, we use posting IDs. There's nothing dishonest about it!
@downunder-61 is very knowledgeable and offers accurate advice.

I like the posts of questioning the O.P.
Sometimes I wonder why some hide under multiple I.D.'s. Also wonder if some are scammers looking for free information on how to play the game better to get a freebie.
