It doesn’t matter nothing is selling

eBay locked everything like nothing is selling

In order to sell more stuff you have to pay eBay a couple bucks or you will never sell anything

With this act you’re pushing sellers outside the business

I dont expect your low cost items would be worth promoting. You are in a very over saturated category with millions of listings, good luck.

With 5,000,000 listings for 'i phone cases' 'i phone batteries' etc. how WOULD a person get their listing TO THE TOP without Promotions?

At LEAST there is a way instead of relying on some algorithm which could/would change daily/hourly.

I make sales without participating in promoted listings.

I know you know that can't possibly be a true statement for all sellers.  Because if it was, the site simply would not exist.

I get the frustration.  For many sellers this has been an extremely tough year and for others they are doing just fine.

It is hard to sell any quantity of things when you only run a handful of listings and in a really saturated category.  You should consider branching out on what type of stuff you sell and run more listings so you get more buyer exposure.  Both those things would likely help you.

Good Luck.

Phone cases are a tough sell. I can go to Five Below and get a new one for only 65 cents more.

The only thing eBay ever locks is the eBay Vault, and nobody knows where that is anyway.  My guess is it's a self-storage unit near the San Jose Municipal Airport.

Because so many think anything Ebay does it has to be negative.  They've shown pictures of the place and it doesn't look like what you describe.

The reason many think this way is because ebay has an unnecessarily adversarial and punitive relationship towards sellers.

I understand that is true.  It doesn't mean it is factual, but I do understand and respect that this is how many sellers feel.  It is also true that there are many other sellers that do not feel the same way.  All points of view are important.  But as I've said many times, blanket statements or feelings are unlikely to be true or factual.  Same with this.

Just because Ebay has upset a seller in some respect, not had their back as they thought they would or whatever the reason for the seller feeling that they have been done wrong, doesn't mean that everything they do is wrong, bad, horrific, or any other word one may choose to use.

I've had my share of issues with Ebay over the years.  I've gotten pretty darn upset with them too.  I sought out ways of getting certain things changed.  That rarely works, but I've had some small successes.  Took a VERY long time.  And while there are many things I firmly disagree with Ebay on, there are other things I feel are good about Ebay.

I've never had a job in my life that every aspect was good.  I know some may have experienced this, but I was never that lucky.  There has always been part of my job I love, parts that I deal with and parts I simply loth.  But overall it is fine.  Ebay is no different to me.

If you are looking for the perfect place to sell on the internet.  Where all the rules are to your liking, the best options usually is your own website, where you set the rules.  There simply is no way Ebay can do that for you or anyone else.  They will likely never be able to create a policy / rule that all 18+ million active sellers will agree is a good policy / rule.  It simply just isn't in the human nature as we all have different wants, needs and points of view.

I try not to be myopic when I view different things.  I'm not always successful, but in my life as a whole it as served me well.

Yes, I love those pictures of the "Vault."  I'm sure that's exactly what it looks like.  Who knew a self-storage unit could look that spiffy?

Completely off topic ... sad, funny & true...

There is a Five Below in the shopping center near me. I used to walk past it all the time. One day this summer, the person I was with asked me if I wanted to go in and I asked...

"Why? It's summer! I don't need winter clothes!"

I seriously thought "Five Below" meant -5° and that they were a store for cold weather gear. Needless to say, I was extremely surprised and felt extremely stupid... of course I blame whoever came up with the name 🤣

I went 20 days without a sale.  My monthly fee did not go through my bank because I could not add funds to cover it due to my broke a**.  Now, since I owed them $28+, I got 2 sales in 3 days!  Now my fee is paid.  Miracle of miracles!!!   lol

You might consider sourcing different inventory. With what you have out there, there is not much hope for sales, promoted or not. Sorry for that news.

Best of luck.

I know, sometimes it is tough.  We can get blinded by how we feel.  I've been there and done that.  I've learned that there are better ways to live.
