This is what eBay sent me. "Your listing was removed: VeRO Infringement Policy
We had to remove your listing because it didn’t follow our VeRO Infringement Policy. Violating the intellectual property rights of a rights owner is not allowed."
So I e-mail the company and they answer me saying that my listing is a violation of Intellectual Properties Law. And That's all they say!
This seems so unconstitutional to me! This was an old Direct TV receiver. I listed it as used and they say I broke some law?? If we go by what eBay says is a violation, then anything that has Intellectual property or Copyrights or Trademarks is illegal to resell!
Does anyone know if I can do anything about this?

Is your next step attempting to get ebay to remove the VERO violation? I thought ebay doesn't have customer service reps at this time. So it's a bot.

They are not trying to insult you. They are giving you information that YOU came here requesting. Just because you don't like what they have to say doesn't mean they are trying to insult you.
I have a question for you. Did Direct TV say why they reported you to VERO but now are saying it's ok for you to sell? I would want to know.

ALL tv equipment not purchased at a licensed store like Best-Buy is illegal to sell - and it will not have a brand name on it like Direct-TV; only an off brand like GE or Best-Buy brand for instance. And you will have the original register receipt in hand. Be it receivers, remotes, transmitters, boxes, dishes, DVR's, cables/wires, etc. Regardless of age of the device.
One rents the equipment from the company - they (the companies) don't sell it to anyone and so no one can sell it and no one can buy it. One cannot sell what they don't own - it's called theft and TV providers are cracking down.
I heard Comcast and others are physically taking people to court over it. Direct may be too - if VeRO took you down, they have your name and number - be aware. And good luck - hope you dodge this bullet.

If you go back and read my post, I did not try to insult you at all.
I gave you good information about the VERO program, and then asked you a few questions (that you never answered).

Yes it is a free country. Companies have a right to stop you from selling on Ebay.

You are attempting to sell stolen property. Stop it. Box up all of them and ship them back to the owner. Today.
And don't forget to use tracking to be certain they got it and hang onto that receipt indefinitely. It might be 10 years down the road, but the OP will likely hear from them again.

If you did not get that in writing, including the serial number of the unit, I'd err on the side of caution if it were me.

If you want to know what your rights are then contact a lawyer.
It's ok to vent, but if it is important to you, you need a qualified opinion.

A "free country" without property rights would be...Sudan? Congo? In those "free countries", men carry machetes and AK-47's to resolve their disputes.
Meanwhile, I am enjoying a cup of coffee I own in a chair I own in a house I own, secure in the knowledge that if any machete-wielding marauder shows up at my door, relief is just a phone call away.

Personally, were I you, I would not try to relist them on ebay. 'Bots don't read email well and more take downs of the same thing will get your account compromised. The letter you got sounds a lot like something a user might get from any 3rd party, outsourced CS, sorry to say.
Unless, you go through channels and file the counter complaint or whatever it is called (information should be on the ebay take down notice). It is the form you file, and then the VeRO holder either joins you in court for a judgement of the case or the VeRO holder withdraws their complaint with ebay. Might want to remember the down side - if you file and it goes to court, fees may be very expensive.

I would agree with this. You don't want to mess with the VeRO program, whether or not you're in the right. eBay basically has no jurisdiction over the program, so if you get pinched again, they aren't going to be able to help you.
