Is there a way to find the weight of USPS package that seller entered on a label already delivered?

Normally, I can access the weight I input for  USPS  label on the hard copy receipt that I print out with the  label (they are filed). However, if you have a combined order no receipt is attached. I usually print the Pick List after I make the label so the tracking in on the Pick List receipt. I file one for me, but no weight is included. I just got charged  for an underweight combined package that I am  pretty sure I input combined weight correctly, but I cannot find original weight I input to dispute the  charge.

If you know the price you originally paid and the service that you used you can deduce the weight that you entered.

It's also possible that the underweight charge was due to dimensional weight calculations. For example, you increased the weight of the combined items but did not change the dimensions (but used a larger box).

I have never had a USPS shipping adjustment so I don't know what information they provide on the supplementary billing.

FYI - When I print shipping labels I print to a PDF file and then to the printer so I always have access to the actual numbers or address that I used.

This is my last one....  The weight you entered is right in the email.

@trip98   From Seller Hub, on the left side of the screen, go into the Shipping Labels, find the one in question, select the option to 'get another label' from your dropdown choices.  That will bring up the label & you'll see the weight on it.   Then either just close the screen or navigate elsewhere.

Also, I believe it's in the document that they send you, but you may have to follow a hyperlink.  I have one here, though I overpaid & if I click on the "View Cost Adjustments" blue button, it takes me to a screeen that shows me all the details, including the weight, what I paid & what the actual weight was & their adjustment amount.

If you go back and act like you're going to buy another label for that order,  it might show the information you entered.

Have a great day.

Hi @trip98 . Because you received a cost adjustment, you should see both the original weight and the adjusted weight when you view the adjustment details on this page:

https://www.ebay.com/ship/lmng

Unless my memory is off, you should also see the details either in the email or by clicking the link within the email to view details.

@trip98  Besides the instructions I gave you to get to the Shipping Labels page, I will add that it's very important to look at the details the USPS sends you.  I also put instructions how to do that in my reply #5 above, but the reason it's important is the devil is in the details.  Usually it's just a couple of oz difference & it's either a shortage or overage.  One time though I had one that they charged me like $8 more & the details said I shipped it w/a different class of service than what I paid for.  After thoroughly reading the deets they sent, I saw they said I shipped it Priority.  It was a small piece of clothing & I did NOT ship it Priority.   Turns out that sometimes the scale catches the pkg right next to yours!   I wouldn't have figured it out had I not followed all the USPS links.

That's not most though, most are either a few ounces short or extra.

Just to be clear: you weighed and measured the finished package for which you were buying the label; is that right?

Yes, for sure I weighed it. Although my digital scale needed a battery, so I used a manual scale...that is part of the reason I want to know what happened. Everything I send gets weighed after it is packed before printing the label to make adjustments accordingly.

The box went from a 4x4x4 to  8x6x4 so  dimensional weight wasn't the problem

I have the receipt from the scan at the post office, so I know what it weighed at the PO acceptance, but no where in the correspondence from ebay/usps says what they say I input for weight.  Below is what I got in my messages in payments via transaction.

Your original label was for a 2 lb package to zone 4 via USPS Ground Advantage.

The $1.14 adjustment brings the cost to $7.67 which is the rate for a 2 lb package to zone 5 via USPS Ground Advantage.

This leads me to ask what was the ship from zip code on the shipping label, what was the zip code at the post office where you dropped it off, and what was the destination zip code?

This looks like a zone adjustment, not a weight adjustment.

I have the PO scan receipt, package weighed "1 pound 0.30 oz". Based on my original ebay charge of $6.36 the package weight I input was 1 pound .  The 0.30 difference according to ebay calculator  for 1 pound 1 ounce is  $6.45, a .9 cent difference. I was charged and extra $1.14. Box size basically the same 4x4x4 to 8x6x4 USPS ground.

I will dispute for the principle of it.

What complicated this issue (for me) was the combo of the four items and ebay only showing the one item from the lot in shipping labels after the fact, I had to adjust the postage weight again to  account for the three other  items and get to the $6.36 cost. And I never receiving the message with all the weight differences

What are you saying "nope" to?

1 lb 1 oz is always billed at the 2 lb rate.

(Edit to add: $6.36 is the 1 lb rate Ground Adv to zone 4, but not sure why that number was mentioned in your last post since your screenshot says you initially paid $6.53, not $6.36. And the $6.45 rate you mentioned is a 0.2 cu rate but not relevant here since you did not pay the cubic rate.)

You were billed $6.53 originally which is the 2 lb rate Ground Adv to zone 4.

The adjustment makes the total $7.67 which is the 2 lb rate Ground Adv to zone 5.

Can you provide the 3 requested zip codes?

The most likely scenario is the post office had a different zip than the one on the label. If the first 3 digits are different, that can put the buyer in a different zone compared to the label ship from and the post office where you dropped off the package.

I understand now my weight was fine, zone issue. Thank you. Wastingtime101.

Billed for zone 5, but  89101 to 88310 is zone 4 as my label showed.
