Is there a Cap on the Number of Sales you can get in a Day? I believe it is. Sorry, you have reached your quote for the day, Next!..........................., but there is 10 more hours left in the day.

Sure, zero to one! What is going on? Last year I was selling $6,000 in June, this year I won't even reach $3,000 unless something miraculous happens.

There's definitely something going on for awhile now.
It used to be starting last summer that sudden changes up/down seemed to be prevented, and that it would change more gradually.
Now there's something clearly happening where if you have a good day, it will be followed by slow days until you go back to an "average" level of sales.
Basically seems as if eBay has determined what our intended amount of sales for the month should be allowed and doesn't allow it to fluctuate.
The problem in this case is if you view the top sellers of categories, they're dropping almost across the board in the last couple months.
Those of us in the auto parts business know that parts clearly sell more on weekdays. The reason is obvious, many mechanics aren't open on weekends. It has always been this way.
When auto parts sellers are seeing weekdays having the same amount of sales as weekends, there's obvious manipulation at work. Traffic does not naturally work like that.

Not on how many sales but there are limits to number of listings

Sad to see that Sellers aren't on an even playing field here.

Just had a sale on another site for an item I have cross posted here. The item was priced less here but another FVF Ebay lost out on. Diversify and cross post - don't put all your eggs in one basket!!

New (and infrequent) seller limits are there to protect both buyers and sellers. It has nothing to do with an uneven playing field. As soon as this seller has more satisfactory transactions and builds a more current history, the limits will be lifted.

Once I get 4-5 sales in any given day, despite 10+ hours remaining in the day, I know, I will not be getting anymore sales for "that" day, not matter what I do. I could reduce my price by 50% for the remaining 10 hours and I will sell nothing more for the remainder of "that" day. Hence, growing your business appears to be an unattainable dream.

You have limits on sales, everyone does.
A new seller will have a limit of zero to ten.
My limit exceeds my abilities

I have been selling for 7 years, I have over 1000 listings on my primary account with 100% feedback, yet I feel I am under a quota system.

short answer is yes. its called throttling

Pre cassini days I remember having freak days where sales would spike average 3 a day to say 30, a welcome madness....but this doesn't occur anymore, ever.....it does seem like it's controlled and capped.

When I get more than 4 sales in a day, I feel if though I hit the lottery. If I can average 10 per day, it would be wonderful. I believe I got the inventory to support 10 sales per day and my items are priced well enough that it should not be a problem.
Hey, eBay....................help me exceed my goal of 10 sales per day. Lets make some money!!!!!!!

This is key. This is why any search engine that does not consider "Sales History" as a top priority is destined to fail. You need some path to grow your business if you're willing to put in work. AKA "Healthy Competition".
Sales history while preserving good metrics shows that a seller can handle the sales. Repeat customers shows that they have good quality control and aren't just helping grow their own presence, they're also helping growing eBay as a whole. What could be better for eBay than repeat customers???
Right now eBay doesn't consider sales history in search anymore, there's no path to growth, no path to healthy competition, eBay Managers (not CSR's) will directly say "Your performance and metrics are excellent I don't see anything wrong, I wish there was some advice I could give you.
More importantly, without these things, there's no quality control. Which means more problems upon delivery to customer. What happens when customers have problems on delivery? They are less likely to come back to eBay. The opposite of a "repeat customer".
We've been a top seller in our category for many years. We know how to compete, we have very good tracking of our competitors. We have a very large sample set to work with, a huge amount of statistics, we can see when eBay tweaks things that effect impressions, sales, etc.
Our typical average is ~100 orders a day. For the last ~1.5-2 months, we're lucky to reach 60. All of the other top competitors in our category are experiencing similar issues. And these issues are not just effecting us.
Even as the best performing seller in our category, we've seen non-stop drops for about a year and a half now. With the last 1.5-2 months being by far the worst we've EVER seen. Not since our first year on eBay were things this bad. Yet we're still #1 in our category. If we were the only ones to drop, we would have lost that #1 spot. We didn't.
EBay is not in good shape, and the numbers are declining at an alarming rate. Sellers aren't happy. Buyers aren't happy.
