Is anyone ignoring the the update requests for item specifics.

I am so sick of item specifics and the immediate request for more specifics after completing a listing.  I am sure there have been many threads on this topic, but now that we have tried to adjust to it, has anyone found that sales remain constant if you just ignore the reminders rather than check the do not remind me again button every time you create a listing or send items to auction?  Last night I used my remaining listings to send slow moving items to auction, this morning I woke up to 68 request for item specifics for items I had already listed, already check the box DO NOT REMIND ME AGAIN.  18 years in this site, used to look forward to checking for sales each morning. this was my quiet side gig to start the day.  A cup of Java and eBay to start the day.  Now it is just a daily frustration. I started specifics by filling in every box with something to get the blue circle and lightening bolt. My sales stopped.  It was a waste of time and I saw a post from auction Professor explaining a control group test he did between filling in all specifics and another group of listing ignoring the no relevant specifics. https://www.ecommercebytes.com/2021/05/26/the-problem-with-ebays-required-item-specifics/

He found that filling in all specifics to lightening bolt did not improve sales.

I stopped going for lightening and my sales picked up, now I am wondering if we drop in search in we ignore the reminders to update or "select do not remind me again" to remove the item specific reminders.

I am down to 37 to finish.  A lot of mine are in the wrong category as well as need more IS input.  I had over 600 that needed fixing.

If they revert back IDK what I will do!!

This quest stands on the edge of a blade...stray but a little and you shall fail to the ruin of us all.

Re: Is anyone ignoring the the update requests for item specifics.

According to a CSR this is due in part of eBay updating listing categories. I was up to 400 before getting it down to under 40. The frustrating part being when item(s) would pop back up on the list after being updated; this is when I called to ask what was going on. The best approach is to make the item specifics gods happy by ensuring the specifics circle is completely blue. I find the item specifics circle tedious because some of the searches linked to a specific have an extremely low count.

I ignore them.  I think I went through and fixed everything once.  Sales unaffected.  Probably a good idea if you have a lot of one item to sell.  Sell an item regularly...if it's just one and done.  Waste of time.  Fill out as little as possible.

I only update the listings that have required item specifics . I don't bother with the recommended specifics

This is how I feel. I sell mostly one offs. I am ignoring the  requests for data that does not apply to the search for my items.
