That they are not scanning the media mail for many days is for sure. The rest of the story I am still to find out.

What kind of problems are you having with your carrier- did you call your local post master to discuss the matter?

Take the issue up with your local Postal supervisor.

I don’t care what type of problems you’re having with USPS, you need to work out those anger issues first.

If you have an issue with your own carrier that you are unable to resolve directly the first step is a calm and polite discussion with your postmaster.

If that fails the next rung on the ladder is the USPS consumer affairs office for your region.

If the issue is directly related to business mail there is also the Small Business Support Center (SBSC).

I have known many carriers. What kind of issue are you having ?

No delivery to your house because some one has a dog (a known biter) running loose on the block and refuses to lock it up - I knew one carrier who was bitten 3 times - and that particular block was not theirs.

Or was there no mail delivered to your house because the steps or walkway was not shoveled or salted ? - I have known 3 carriers who fell on icy steps and walkways and lost weeks while their broken arm or leg healed.

Or believe it or not, no mail delivered to your house because one of your neighbor's houses is infested with fleas - a lot of people and animals ended up with them.

Perhaps your carrier has had a tragedy happen - a death or serious injury in their family.

So yes, I have known many a mail carrier. And just like the rest of us, a few carriers that could not care less but most that can not do enough for you - including one that saved one of their customers lives.

I've definitely had issues in the past, with most of them being related to internal theft by USPS workers. Back in 2015 I mailed out a dozen games one day worth over $150, and guess what, USPS lost all of them.

A rep from USPS later confirmed a transport employee had recently been fired for stealing at my post office location.

Au contraire,  I am perpetually gobsmacked by just how well and efficient USPS works.  I have had only one package get lost in the past 10 years (sorry, don't remember beyond that).

It seems that the OP is having a bad relationship with his mail carrier.  It is not that he is really threatening with physical damage but a figurative one. I have an issue with English, not my language (Spanish) so, sometimes I say something ridiculous or offensive. Mea culpa!

But, there are some mail carriers bent in being an ace, you know what I mean Smiley Wink But, they are trolled sometimes by their supervisors and they have to put the clown mask on their face and that's when they pay a price.

One day, many years ago, I met the mail carrier that was replacing the one on vacation. I gave them a few packages to take to the PO but he told me to call one day in advance in order to be picked up. These packages were first class. So, I told him that my mail carrier was such a nice person, he would bend his back for me, yada, yada, yada. Anyway, he took them with this face that made me think of some type of entitlement.

I didn't stop thinking the entire day about this. So, I planned in going to the PO to complain. And I did! As soon as I entered the building, the clerks, friends of mine joked about this and that. So, they said, what's up? I don't see you with anything in your hands? Any stamps? Well! I said, sorry guys but I came to complain about the ace mail carrier that told me he is too good of a God to take my packages.  Then, they asked me who he was? I described him with details, and they started laughing. Smiley Very Happy

That's our boss they said...……..Smiley Very Happy

I am not a chicken but in the name of diplomacy I decided not to complain that day Smiley Very Happy

Hi, yes i had an issue with a mail carrier for a while. Instead of leaving packages on the porch, he attempted to jam them into our oversized mailbox. Several times he ruined what was in the package. He was crushing the smaller boxes with his boot so he could get them into the opening in the mailbox. Sometimes they were jammed so tight i couldnt get them out. Othertimes they were spilling out of the mailbox, getting rained on.

This didnt last for long. First, i spoke to my carrier directly. He was not a regular employee but was filling in. When that didnt work, i took the pictures i had been taking of the wet soggy mail as well as the jammed overflowing box to my Postmaster. Never had another problem after that.

Wow... I love to find your carrier and warn her against a threat to a FEDERAL employee

Oh please. I doubt the 'threat' was actually intended.

What i have used in the past that worked really well for me was to first speak with the local Postmaster about the issue.  I actually had a problem where it turned out to be the postmaster that did not want the carriers spending the time scanning the pickups or even processing them so he punished any carriers that did pick up items from customers.

So the next step or the first if you do not want to deal with confrontation is go to USPS.com and at the bottom of the page click on "Contact us".  Then click on Email and no for Tracking number.  You will then have a number of tabs to click on and in your case if you have a complaint about a person, click on personnel and fill out the complaint form.  You can also use this for compliments as both types go into the employees file.

You should receive a response within 48 hours with a recommended solution and if you are not happy with it let them know that is not acceptable.  I have used this on numerous occasions and now have a very good relationship with both the carrier supervisor and the postmaster.  My route has now been designated a training route and I constantly have issues with my mail not getting picked up on the days that my old regular carrier is not working, but all I have to do is call the private number they gave me and somebody will come out and somebody will come out and pick up all of my packages and immediately deliver them to the sorting hub so they get scanned in timely for Ebay purposes.

I have even had the postmaster show up out here at 9 pm to pick up my packages as she had been given a story about how difficult my items were and how demanding I was, so the postmaster came out for herself only to find a bag that had all 8 of my 2 ounce packages along with a scan sheet for all of the packages along with a note to ring the doorbell when she got there if she would like some coffee as it was a very cold evening.  That note actually had been sitting there since the early morning when I first put the packages out there so the carrier missed out on something to warm herself up with.  The carrier also was shown the door with a pink slip the next morning (she was a trainee so they could do that) and I got a call from the postmaster thanking me for everything and letting me know she appreciated the note even though she had not rang the doorbell.

The postmaster also let me know that going forward I would have my old carrier for my scheduled pickups only , unless he was off that day.  So he comes over when he passes by house although I am not technically on his route and picks up all my packages and makes sure that they are scanned.  I gave him his Christmas card with a nice tip in it and a very nice thank you note for him as well as a card and smaller tip for the Postmaster and Carrier Supervisor.  The next day i received a card from my carrier with all the money i had given him except $20 and a note thanking me for the generous present but stating that he was only allowed to accept $20.

I found out this weekend that he is officially retiring at the end of the month which I am happy for in one way but definitely concerned about in another as i have not had a single late scan since this system was put into place.  I also received a phone call from the Postmaster letting me know that she had already let the person that is taking over the route know that they will be responsible for doing the same thing and they were in total agreement with it.

So using that online form and contacting your local PO does get things done and done quickly as the Postmasters are judged just like any other new manager at a for profit business and are held accountable for their operations.

Why does your mail carrier feel unsafe...other than for the fact you are threatening physical violence against them (hopefully in jest)?
