Invoices and receipts

I would like to make a suggestion to ebay as we are spending a lot of time with customers asking for receipts for their purchases , can eBay send the customer a copy of a receipt when they order so we can avoid making one for the customers, we don't print receipts as we were duplicating paperwork so can the customer automatically receive a receipt for their purchases and have the option to print a receipt.

This would save us huge amounts of man hours and lots of issues as eBay doesn't allow them to send us their email address which is leading to angry customers.

     This is not eBay customer support so this request will probably not receive any action. However, with regrds to the "receipt" what exactly are your customers requesting that the cannot already receive either from the invoice or from a packing slip that you can print and include with the order?

First, all customers do receive a copy of their order when they make purchases on eBay.   It is very comprehensive as it shows what they purchased, and the total amount including the method of payment.   I don't know why they need anything from you as they  just have to print it out. 

Then you do have the option to print out this  same information when you print a packing slip.  Do you include a packing slip when printing your labels?

You are in the UK and this is the US board......so you might post there to get a more local response.....

That said, here, we print a packing slip to go in every package and have never had a request for an invoice.... been doing it since 2004.

If/when a customer wants a "receipt", why can't he just print a copy of his invoice?

They may mean a CC receipt as to what was charged to the card.

Many do not know this; so just tell your customers this (packing slips don't have amounts shown-typically)

To get a Receipt for your Purchase:

Go to My Ebay and hover over 'Purchases'

Find that purchase- right side, click 'order details'

It comes up- far right corner click 'printer friendly'

Funnily enough it's such a common problem with people not realising on eBay how to print an invoice we have created this.

eBay make this difficult by not allowing you to have their email address and when we send it using the email link eBay provides , they say they don't get it.

Too be honest eBay should make printing an invoice easy as we really shouldn't have to find ways around eBay not automatically sending receipts , on our own website we automatically send a link on how to print an invoice.

It seems to be that people don't realise how to print an invoice on eBay , it's why we have created a print screen to show people how to print an invoice on ebay ( example below).

Didn't realise this was a US board , we are trying to eliminate un-necessary printing , so we don't automatically send a receipt but it may be a solution until eBay send an automatic receipt.

I'm wondering if this is a UK ebay issue as I have found when I order on UK eBay , I don't get a receipt , could just be a UK issue as I wasn't aware I was on the US board.

Does your page tell the customer how to get there?

I would add the verbiage I included, if not, as well as send that info to anyone that asks.

Currently its about a quarter of our ebay customers and when they ask for an invoice we upload instructions as it seems a lot of people don't know how to print invoices, could be a UK ebay problem , I have noticed the US site is easier to use.
