E-Bay is giving delivery estimates that are completely unrealistic. Does anyone know where this data is coming from? I got an order on a Saturday and didn't ship it out for 2 business days (Tuesday). This is within my handling time but i'm not happy that it took that long. However it estimated to the buyer a Tuesday to Thursday delivery which is 4 days off the post office estimate! Unfortunately buyers see that number and think it's a guarantee when it is just an estimate. Any tips to adjust that number? I never like to promise fast delivery but typically do deliver fast. Majority of my orders are sent out the same day. Gonna get a red donut over this one.

If you were looking signed in, they are using your own zip code- so it shows faster.
They also use an 'average' of your shipments even if you have 2 days, but many times you ship same day/next day, that all goes into account.
I have 5 handling days, shows on every listing, yet someone in NY shows it will be there in 3 to 6 days. Not if it don't go out until 5 days...but, they been taking my average and use it (against me).
With all the Great Shipping service we've been getting lately, I try to ship out within 2 days at the latest.
If you want to see what someone sees in a distance from you, you need to change the zip code looking at any item and then look at yours.

eBay should stop that. Even fortune tellers can't predict when your parcel will arrive. Worse, shipping have been going slower. There has been some rough weather so that too does not help.

Feel the same. Bumped my handling to a minimum of 4 days with a max 10 days for big bulky things. Smalls normally shipped same or next day are purposely being held onto a couple of days before mailing. Would prefer to ship ASAP but this is the only thing preventing unrealistic shipping quotes showing up on my listings.
Not happy I have to resort to these measures.
