Just wondering...there has been posts regarding the decisions, policies and path Ebay has taken.
So have at it. If YOU were in charge of Ebay, what would YOU do?

The User's Agreement. Generally, it is updated every year.

I disagree with you regarding snad returns. I feel that all returns should be paid for by the buyer. They’ve got to have some skin in the game too. Regarding the 2nd paragraph, eBay needs to vet their sellers....you really think a long time seller with fabulous feedback and who relies somewhat on eBay to make a living is going to lie?

Ah ha! Thank you. I didn’t realize there was anything in there about arbitration between buyer and seller?

Maybe I’m naive in my thinking because I’m so honest, I just assume most others are too and are like-minded.

That's ok, we can agree to disagree. Buyers already have skin in the game, they handed over their money and then didn't get what they were promised and I just don't see how making them pay for the return is fair. There are listings that, by accident or design, are legitimate SNADs. You make it sound as if the buyer should be punished because they dare to dispute a legitimate SNAD, when just getting the SNAD is often very contentious for the buyer anyway.
If you got something that was not as described in the listing, would you be willing to throw more money at a situation not of your choosing or fault to correct it? I think not. Paying for the return shipping is an incentive to provide an accurate listing.
Sellers could use that in addition to intimidation and abuse to try to get the buyer to abandon the return. So it would all be to the seller 's advantage. I doubt buyers will continue to buy if they have to pay to return the many legitimate SNADs that are occurring.

Granted, this is from 2016 and I have not compared it to the most recent UA.

I'm honest, too~but this is not a perfect world.

I understand what you are saying. My mindset is that more buyers than sellers are abusing eBay. That’s where my thinking comes from in regards to buyers paying to return. But yes, if it’s truly a snad, then buyer shouldn’t have to pay return shipping.

I understand~and I know that there are buyers who are abusing the process to get free returns. I am a buyer but I can see the big picture. Sadly not everyone is ethical. I would never and have never claimed something was SNAD when it was not just to get return shipping, and I doubt I am alone in this.
Not every buyer is a scammer anymore than every seller is. But there are scammers on both sides of the equation, buyer and seller.

Don't have time to read all the replies. I expect that some of them are great.
If I were in charge of eBay the way things are being done now, I would fire myself, as I obviously have no idea what the h e double hockey sticks I am doing, or what buyers/sellers want.

I'd turn it into a cooperative with all the long-term sellers running it.

To clarify this, I only use returns for legitimate SNADs that are simply unacceptable. I buy with tolerance and a grain of sale. Returns are a waste of time and energy and I make the best decisions I can so I don't have to return.

Ditto! I’d like to have you as a buyer. 😊
