Just wondering...there has been posts regarding the decisions, policies and path Ebay has taken.
So have at it. If YOU were in charge of Ebay, what would YOU do?

If I were in charge of Ebay, I would have a team of dedicated "shill hunters". I would also allow buyers to back out of a bid on the suspicion of shillers in their midst.

I understand.
I know what you mean as a bid is supposed to be binding, but buyers just choose an incorrect reason and retract, many times, when they suspect shill bidding.

Go back to the old search engine. I know my sales were better because I could see my views were better. I gather, this was a similair experience for many other sellers. Did it make things more cluttered, sure, but in the day and age where ebays stock is getting hammered because of declining sales, whats the point of having a nice closet if you are probably gonna have to sell the house?

You are not alone. Many wish for the old search engine.

Totally eliminate the Feedback system.
Use % of returns as a metrics to evaluate buyers and sellers.
eBay gives buyers a 'successful transaction count' for each purchase.
Sellers get a successful sale count.
It's a number only. No comments from buyer or seller.

Your listings days are over!
i would never be too big for listing underlings....now a shipping underling might be nice.

Yep, and I'm looking at a seller with fraudulent bidders right now, but I'm hesitant to retract my bids when I can't say what the actual problem is.
Not a good situation to be in.

Lynn, I understand but I feel that feedback comments for sellers from buyer is imperative here~you can avoid a problematic transaction if you read them.
Due to legitimate SNADs, that occur through no fault of the buyer, a percentage would not be fair as it would penalize the buyer for the seller's listing, which was inaccurate by accident or design.

I would get rid of free shipping on any item and make it an incentive for a buyer to spend more to GET free shipping. They have to buy so much $$$ to get free shipping else they pay for it themselves.
Shipping is not really free, the buyer pays for it, it is just hidden. But other companies use the buy so much, get free shipping principle.
No need for 30-60 day return on most items. No guaranteed returns, only invites deception, which is clearly has proven itself fast to be a very bad policy.
Interesting.
No free listings past the ones that come with what ever level account/store you have. eBay's biggest issue seems to be too many items without enough buyers to buy them. Get rid of free listings promotions, would stop a huge volume of junk listings going up and clogging the searches.
I respectfully disagree~I think the variety and exposure that Ebay gets by offering everyone free listings is extremely beneficial. What would be beneficial would be more accurate listings.
No special deals/rates/post for foreign countries.
I know what you mean.
Get rid of feedback! Archaic.
Truly punish high volume sellers who are actually bad and stop turning a blind eye to them because they make eBay huge $$$.
Those sellers can be a turn off.
Stop trying to get rid of auctions. People love auctions, and eBay is the #1 home of auctions. eBay is clearly trying to drop them or make them useless like they are becoming, and eBay will lost publicity which it dearly needs right now. They get so much FREE press when something is on auction on eBay. Since they rarely advertise anywhere of use, I think losing their "what crazy thing is on auction on eBay" articles that you see almost daily will hurt them.
I don't know that Ebay is trying to get rid of auctions. Many sellers have responded to non paying bidders by choosing to list fixed price, IPR. There will always be items that are better suited for auction but many buyers don't want to wait around a week and then walk away empty handed.
Make it a fair playing field for ALL.
Stop penalizing sellers for things out of their control. Late arriving shipments due to USPS is NOT the sellers fault. Buyers opening up NSADS for frivolous reasons is not the sellers fault.
I agree that what happens in the hands of the carrier is not the seller's fault.
Those are my starters, the list here is endless.
