So around early Nov I sold a laptop. It was sold through the global shipping program but I didn't think twice and shipped it to the address that I was provided. About a month later, I get a claim saying that the item was 'not as described' and that the buyer wanted a refund. Because the item was falsely advertised, (which It was not as I included the product label of the laptop I was selling), eBay told me that I had to pay for return shipping and provide the buyer with a label. But because it was through international shipping program, I don't have the buyers address. I reached out the the buyer twice, with no response, and contacted their customer support who told me to wait until a certain date and if nothing happens then to ask them to step in. 4 days pass and I get a notification, because I didn't work with the buyer, I am not only losing the case, being put in deficit, but the buyer does not need to return the item. I called their support and they stated that the reason why I am losing this case is because I never reached out the the buyer but when I check my inbox there is literal evidence of me messaging the buyer asking to work out a return label. I am confused, every time I speak with a customer support agent they file the same 'escalation' and then proceed to give me the same result. Every support agent that I have spoken with has agreed with me that I did the best that I could do given the information provided.
Will I have to take this $919 loss or is there any last resort possibility to get my money back? I have chatted with them 5 times and called them twice about it, no luck so far.

So when you say you sold it through the Global Shipping Program, you mean the address provided was to Erlinger, Kentucky, right? As far as I know, any claims that happen from the buyer are Ebay's responsibility, since you had no control over it after it arrived at the Kentucky facility. They could have mishandled it, wrongly re-packaged it, or anything else that didn't involve you. I've only had a couple of GSP buyer complaints, and ebay handled it 100%.

Not as described complaints have never been covered by GSP, only damaged or lost in transit.

The GSP will only cover it if it gets lost or damaged during shipping.

I believe that you are only responsible to providing shipping label from GSP to you, so you could of just press buttons to generate the label, and then the buyer would have to send it back. However, ebay is notorious issuing refunds to buyers no matter what. It is extremely risky business here, especially since ebay started managing payments (PayPal has more protection for sellers)

In the situation you describe, where you are unable to provide a return label, eBay expects you send the buyer MONEY (typically through PayPal) in advance to cover return shipping back to you. If you don't do this, the result is usually eBay will refund from your proceeds and allow the buyer to keep the product.
In your situation, however, if you tried to communicate with the buyer to arrange for the return, and you were ignored that may be a different story. I would discontinue calling eBay and speaking to their outsourced reps. Instead, use the SEND MESSAGE button on the following page. Provide your name, contact info, user ID, transaction/item number and ask for assistance in what you are supposed to do if the buyer refuses to communicate with you.
The eBay staff that monitors the message system are very knowledgeable AND have the authority to help you.

This is, as you requested, the "last resort possibility". Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

Nope, the buyer carries the risk of loss or damage to a GSP Item. This is why the buyers always claims that the item is not as described instead: Unlike us, they know how to read.
Risk of Loss. The risk of loss or damage to a GSP Item shall remain with your Seller until the GSP Item is accepted at the US or UK Shipping Center or has been returned to your Seller by Pitney Bowes from the US or UK Shipping Center. Subject to any statutory rights you may have, the risk of loss or damage to a GSP Item shall transfer to you when the GSP Item leaves the US or UK Shipping Center for export.

To the OP, for future reference you can find the buyers actual address by opening the order and clicking the little blue "see buyer address" link at the bottom of the shipping detail section. It will be marked "Don't ship to this address" in red.

The buyer is still covered by the eBay MBG, that just means that the seller isn’t responsible.

We took a remedial reading class tonight, and now we can see that those two acronyms are not spelled the same, just a guess we were talking about one thing, and then something else?

No.
MBG stands for Money Back Guarantee. A buyer having their item shipped with the GSP is covered by the MBG.
But who is "we"?

11. Lost, Damaged, or Undeliverable Items; Valid Delivery Address Required. If a GSP Item that you purchase is not delivered to the delivery address specified by you or to the collection center near you that is designated by the shipping carrier, it is damaged, or it does not match your Seller's description, your purchase may be covered by an eBay Money Back Guarantee.
RETURNS
The item was significantly not as described. How do I initiate a claim?
If a Global Shipping Program item arrives damaged, you would file a “return request,” just as you would in a non-GSP transaction. In most eligible cases, the buyer is fully covered by either the eBay Money Back Guarantee or the PayPal Purchase Protection program. If the case against the seller remains unresolved, contact eBay Customer Service. Click here for more information on buyer terms and conditions.
