I opened a starter store . Why is my selling quantity maximum 10 only?

I just opened a starter store on ebay.

After I created a listing with product quantity of 10. It wouldn't let me create anymore listing, kept telling me to upgrade my account to business account. However, when I decrease the product quanity of my first listing to 5, I was able to create a second listing with product quantity of 5.  But it won't let me create my third listing.

Anyone knows why? I am new to ebay and totally have no idea about what's going on.

New sellers have listing limits, which are not affected by having a Store subscription. A limit of 10 items is common.

So the best way is to upgrade to business account? Because I noticed that seller has to provide UPC/ISBN if they are using business account, I am just afraid some of my items don't have that

Unfortunately, opening a store doesn't prevent you from going through the restrictions placed on new sellers. The best thing you could have done us just trying to sell a few things. You need to look at all the rules and read them, I hate to say.

More about limits at this link: https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/listings/selling-limits?id=4107

List items with a qty of 1 then you can list up to 10 items. Limits are usually increased automatically once you start selling.

For account-specific questions call CS because they can tell you more about what they'll require to raise your limits. Typically it's a good selling history.

No. Even if you upgrade to a business account, you will have the same listing limits.  Limits are increased based on your selling reputation and experience.

There's no point to having a store when ebay will only allow 10 listings. You need to phone them pointing out this limitation and request a refund of your store fee and ability to cancel without penalty. I hope you signed up for only month to month.

Ebay needs to make new sellers aware of these limits in large BOLD print when they elect to open a store. I know many accounts have limits, but 10 items and yet enabling the seller to open a store isn't right.

Having a store doesn't change your new seller limits, although many get a store prematurely without researching this.  You have to establish yourself as a dependable seller with a history of successfully completed transactions.  After three months, your limits might be increased.  (Possibly)

It's best to get a store when your volume of business warrants it, cost wise; in other words, sales will more than offset the cost associated with it.

As others stated, new sellers have certain restrictions they must adhere to until a good selling history is established. Below are a few links you might find beneficial as a new seller. Don’t be discouraged by the long learning curve here, and wishing you much success. Good luck.

(PS—Additionally, are you aware of the PayPal holds on new seller’s funds?)
